This year we decided to have a short break during the May Day bank holiday weekend somewhere in the UK. We had always wanted to visit Pembrokeshire in the South West corner of Wales, and so decided to look up some places to stay in the area. As a result of our search, we decided to book 3 nights at a B&B called AtlanticView.
The place itself is situated in Broad Haven, which lies 6 miles to the west of Havordfordwest. It is easy enough to get to although it does lie on a very narrow and steep hill, on a cliff overlooking the bay and beach in Broad Haven. It is personally run by Bob and Frances Crawford and comprises of 4 en suite double bedrooms, and 1 twin bedroom with a private bathroom. 2 of the bedrooms are downstairs which are ideal and accessible for disabled guests, and all rooms come with a colour television, hot drink making ...
Advantages: Great atmostphere in bars & on the street, relaxed place, loads of pubs, Disadvantages: Not a great deal to do
Unfortunately, we only spent 1 night in Galway but what a contrast to Dublin. Having been to Ireland over 10 times and spent most of it in Navan & Dublin, it was nice to go somewhere different.
Getting There>>>>>>>
Situated on the West Coast, Galway is about 3 hours drive from Dublin. It's meant to be 2.5 hours by train, but ours took 5 hours (not nice). If drivings not for you, then a coach goes from O'Connell Street every hour, costs 9 punts one way or 12 return and isn't too bad.
This bus drops you in the heart of Galway, a short walk from the main square and near the train station. However, to get there, I'd recommend hiring a car for a few reasons.
Firstly , the trains only run 6 times a day, aren't the best but quite cheap. Secondly, Galway isn't massive, so you'll run out of things to do, unless all you want to ...
Advantages: location for sites Disadvantages: none
The AtlanticView Guest House is a large bed and breakfast run by a local family. they are the longest runing bed and breakfast in the area of doolin and most people who regularly visit ireland will come back to this house.
I flicked threw the Guest book to find that every comment was "excellent room" "superb Breakfast" etc. the view from the rooms facing the sea will show the cliffs of moher one of irelands most spectacular sites. the rooms are all large with lovely beds and furniture, the showers are powerful and the bathrooms are nice. breakfast has a nice choice of traditional foods and the chef/man of the house will be happy to make any special requests if they are informed the night before. the family will do everything to make you comfortable in your stay.
the House is located aprox 6miles from the tourist entrance to ...
