It is located somewhere around the bay of Cala D'Hort opposite the island of Es Vedra which too has mystical tales surrounding it.....it took us about 3 hours to find it...it was trecherous getting down to it but well worth it.....but I cannot give ... ...Atlantis is the searching for it....................
.Es Vedra is an imposing rock, 400 m high with almost vertical sides and there are many tales attached to this rock such as UFO sightings and argonauts.........At first glance it looks like an extinct volcano. Lots of UFO sightings and strange visions have been reported from this rock...It was used in the filming of South Pacific in 1958 as the famous Bali Hai. On arrival at Atlantis you can see it clearly as you look down to it - but then you have to find a way down to it.....You will find an extraordinary landscape created over 1000 years agowhere the rock was quarried to build the fortress walls of Ibiza Town. Legend has it that part of it was also used to build the ancient pyramids... Over the centuries other stone masons and sculptors have applied their own touches to the landscape creating people emerging from within the rocks... - An art gallery in the wildest of settings....Its not a journey for the faint-hearted but a truely unforgettable and haunting experience. There is also a natural cave with a painted image of the God Shiva who is claimed to protect the cave temple. The only other way to get to Atlantis is by boat - no charter boats run to this place ...you have to hire your own and then anchor out in to the sea and swim in....Its an excellent place for snorkelling.. Atlantis is a very peaceful place and a spiritual experiece and the fun is in finding it yourself because no one will help you but the true beauty of Atlantis is in the not finding it.................Good Luck..........
