Self Catering not in that Kitchen!

Advantages: Unlimited Free access to the castle & grounds
Disadvantages: Very small kitchen

Having written a review for Watermouth Castle, I thought I should add a bit about the accommodation that is available at the Castle. Mid way through last July we visited and stayed at Watermouth Castle in North Devon. The Castle is not only a theme park but also has six apartments as well. Upon arriving at the Castle on the Saturday (as this is change over day) we were warmly welcomed by the owners of the apartments and castle, and were shown to our Penn-Curzon apartment which sleeps 6. ***** The Apartment ***** A you enter the foyer there are two staircases one going up to the left to a small balcony over looking the theme park and then leading to three apartments. The staircase to the right takes you up to another three apartments one being the Penn-Curzon. As you enter Penn-Curzon there is a place to the right to hang coat ...

Is it a hotel, is it self catering?

Advantages: warm sea, sun, spacious rooms
Disadvantages: noisy kids

Our last "proper" holiday before we pack up and become water gypsies(and for those of you who don't know what I mean, please take a look at my homepage) was a nine- night self catering holiday to Albufeira last September. Yes, I know, it's taken me ages to tell you about it. ~~~ We'd never visited Portugal but I, for one, had always wanted to go somewhere where the sea was warm, and I could happily immerse myself for hours on end. Sam was in RAF before we met and has been to Australia, the Maldives, Goa, Cyprus, etc, etc so he doesn't have the same longings! ~~~ So I trawled the internet and Expedia came up trumps with the Apartementos de Cerro Mar costing around £634 for the two of us for 9 nights flying with Excel airways from Gatwick to Faro. I was able to choose from several options for airports and times of flights with the cost ...

Good value self catering holiday

Advantages: Exceptionally clean; good pool for younger children; handy location for GOING to the beach
Disadvantages: Uphill COMING BACK from the beach; balconies could be a safety issue for little ones

Tuesday 8th August 2006 Dear Diary: "Well just stepped off the plane............and have the tan to prove it!" My hubby, six year old son and me have just returned from a week in Benidorm staying at the Levante Lux Apartments. Son had such a great time he's passed out on the sofa as we speak (or should that be as I type??) Anyway to the important stuff........... We arrived at the apartments at 9.30pm on a Tuesday night and were met by a friendly receptionist who checked us in and lightened our wallet by 60? (about £40) for a breakage deposit. Luckily we knew this was coming as it was advertised in the holiday brochure and we were also advised by our Rep when we got on the coach from the airport. At the end of the stay the housekeeper pops into the room to check everything and all being intact you get the deposit returned ...
