Advantages: GREAT LOCATION NEAR THE BEACH Disadvantages: RIMINI
Rimini is not my idea of a perfect destination in Italy, but it's close to San Marino, which isn't a perfect destination in Italy either when you come to think of it. Anyway, Rimini worked out fine for us last year as we wanted to visit San Marino and the choice of hotels was so much better.
That's why we went there - now for where we went there.
We opted for the Ramada Villa Rosa, mainly for the location it has to be said, but also because it looked a half decent hotel at a half decent price (80 euros).
The location couldn't be any better. It's 5 minutes from the historic town centre, sits right on the main drag just across the road from the beach and surrounded by bars and restaurants. We weren't really there for the beach, the historic town centre wasn't up to much but the bars and restaurants held a little more appeal ...

The Amari Atrium was a great hotel. Situated on New Petchburi road is only a short Tuk Tuk or Taxi ride away from the hustle and bustle of Places like Kho San Road, the backpackers holy grail!
Also the hotel is very close to the main drag into Bangkok making it ideal for taxis to and from the Airport.
After 10 weeks of travelling we had stayed in a few terrific hotels however, and especially for the money, I don`t think you could better this hotel. I would imagine something of a similar standard would cost in the region of £300 + a night in the U.K. Our room cost about £48 a night!
Our room was lovely. It had a massive bed and every convenience you could hope for, including a safe which I thought was a re-assuring touch.

We had booked a Superior Deluxe room at the Amari Atrium in Bangkok for 4 days in September to finish off our honeymoon.
The hotel is very grand and very well decorated. Check in took no time at all and we were taken straight up to our room on the 9th Floor. The room was very spacious, the bed was huge and was decorated with rose petals, there was also a lovely honeymoon cake on arrival. The bedroom has a lovely view which backed out to the water and could see for miles.
The bathroom was fab a nice spacious bath with overhead shower and the water was nice and hot with plenty of power.
Each room has a safe which came in very handy for keeping passports and cash.
The food at the restaurant was fantastic with both a buffet or al la carte available both of which was excellent quality. There was also an italian restaurant ...
