Fantastic restaurant, a must do.
Review of Orbit Skytower Revolving Restaurant, Auckland by ang_e11

Advantages: Spectacular Views, great service, excellent food
Disadvantages: none

I am a New Zealander who has been living in the UK for about 8 months. This was one of our favourite 'special occasion' restaurants back home. It is situated at the top of the Sky Tower, an Auckland landmark, and is a revolving restaurant An a la carte restaurant, the menu changes quite frequently, therefore any of the past dishes I have had, they will probably not be serving. I am a real fan of seafood and have had many seafood dishes (steamed ...
...that stick out in my mind. I have had entrees, mains, desserts and cheeseboards and have never once been disappointed. Prices are reasonable for a fine dining establishment, entrees $16-20 and mains £29-30 approx. There is a minimum charge of $25/head, but this is easily reached. The trip to the top of the tower (normally $15) is free so the minimum charge is fair enough. We've always received excellent service, waiters are attentive and knowledgeable. ... Read review

For when you feel generous
Review of Starbucks, Auckland, New Zealand by danieletheridge

Advantages: Nice food
Disadvantages: Nasty floor

They were fairly pleasantly decorated with nice matches but my mum being the fussy woman and airline worker she is would have to pull out a wet hand towel. What for you ask? To clean the table. She is obsessed though. The table itself was perfectly clean although ...
...And the prices… Starbucks, depending on the branch and country is dear. Compared to other cafes in the UK it does cost more but the fact is that it’s better. However, in NZ I found the service to be consistently cheap but that may well be because of the currency exchange rate. Summary… Well, you have left the magical world and swapped it for the swamped street, filled with people dashing to and from work. The world of green aprons ... Read review

Advantages: Food, price, spectacular view
Disadvantages: none

Whilst travelling in New Zealand, my other ½ decied he wanted to celebrate our first 'anniversary' , in style. We decided on the revolving restaurant in the Sky Tower building (the highest building in the southern hemisphere), without knowing very much about it! Pros Cons opening Hours Sample Menu My experience PROS  Although I'm not a 'foodie' (ie I eat most things) even I could appreciate that the food was amazing, in terms of choice, ...
...- We had one starter (between us) a main course each, one dessert between us (budget/diet!), and a bottle of wine for approximately £50! -( N.B the menu is still A l'a carte even at this price)  You can complimentary access to the Sky towers main observation level before or after you're meal.  You get a 360 degree spectacular view of Auckland, we went at night having already visited in the day and it ws beautiful. - The restaurant ...
