Advantages: Lovely Hotel, Brilliant Staff and Excellent Location
Disadvantages: Not on a Backpacker's Budget

I visited the Esplanade Hotel, Fremantle, WA in June 2006 to run a conference for work, which really is the only way I would have been able to stay there, as it is a little out of my price range (although most places are!). Advantages: location to public transport, burleigh township and markets
Disadvantages: nothing really

We booked this accommodation as it was affiliated to my partners work and we were wanting to stay away from the high-traffic Surfers Paradise itself. It is situated only approx. 300m from Burleigh Heads township and very handy to shops and restaurants/cafes. It is around 50m walk to the ocean at the end of the avenue and handy to the Burleigh Heads Markets which are held on a regular basis on a Sunday. The accommodation itself was brilliant as was ...
...you would need in the kitchen to be self-supporting. Handy to buses into Surfers on the main road outside the complex itself and has its own pool and the apartments come with a carpark as well (secured). Disadvantages: Dirty kitchen over priced awful food

Nomads Hostel Wellington was one of the most disappointing hostels I have stayed in, and the most over priced. Nomads is part of a chain of hostels and I was led to believe that they where supposed to be some of the best, I have learnt now through experience to avoid the chain hostels at all costs. ...this offer, I believe all Nomads Hostels boost to offer the say 'Free Meals' The connected to the hostel seemed to be quite good though, offering a Varity of entertainment and special offer nights. I was unfortunately unwell while I was in Wellington so I didn't really do much socialising but my friends had a good night watching a live band in the bar. Advantages: Location, equipment provided
Disadvantages: Builidng work when we visited

We stayed here in May 06, which perhaps was not the best choice as there was building work going on in the hotel the first week and the pool was was closed the second week for more building work. There was also a new building being constructed across the road! Have been back to Broadbeach this year (not to the Phoenician) and all building work seems to be complete. The resort is well situated with the main restaurant area of Broadbeach around it. ...
...monorail connects with Conrad Jupiters hotel/casino (didn't make use of the casino but they do have an excellent show there). However it is a short walk from the beach. Our room was at the Oasis end of the resort and had three balconies. It was a very good size with combined lounge/dining room/kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. There was air-conditioning to the bedroom.
