THE AUSTRALIAN BAR, BROAD STREET BIRMINGHAM.!!!
So, last night I went up Birmingham with my work mates, and we decided to meet in the Australian Bar, This is a bar/club who have live bands, serve food, and get jam packed with people.
WHERE ABOUTS ON BROAD STREET IS IT SITUATED?
The bar is right at the end of Broad Street, opposite the Brasshouse, Just past the canal bridge.
HOW BIG IS IT?
It currently has four buildings knocked through, it's not huge, but it's big enough!!! It also has a club downstairs, but that's another op...
WHAT IS THE AGE RESTRICTION?
18, As with most places, There are bouncers on the door, who find it quite exciting to refuse entry without ID..
IS IT EXPENSIVE?
Yes! Well, no, it's not expensive for Birmingham, but it's no where near as cheap as your local wetherspoons!!! for 1 bottle of REEF it is £3.50, although they do occasionally put this on BOGOF! (Buy one, get one free!) it is around £4.00 for a single Vodka and Coke! (Sorry, I dont drink pints so I dont know how much they are!)
DO YOU HAVE TO PAY TO GET IN?
Yes, it costs £2 on the door.
DOES IT GET CROWDED?
Yes, it is a quite popular place, and it does get VERY busy!
IS THERE ANYWHERE TO SIT?
Yes, there are some lovely comfy sofas, and a few normal pub chairs, there is a good chance of you getting a seat if you wait for a while!
ARE THERE ANY LIVE BANDS?
Yes, there are often live bands on stage, these bands vary from time to time.
DO THEY SERVE FOOD?
Yes, they serve a large selection of food, they have the menu on a screen behind the bar, notifying you of the "special offers"! - I wouldn't reccommend this for your main meal though as it's far from a restaurant! (I highly reccommend you try the Chicken Burritos from the stand outside, £3.95 each but certainly worth it!)
WHAT IS THE AGE RANGE?
It really is all ages, there are some erm, yes, 16 year olds and there are some 40+ year olds, but i'd say the average age is about 25.
WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?
Smart casual, they will let you in if you're wearing jeans!
Well, that was straight to the point - I hope, and I hope I have helped you gain more info on the Aussie Bar!!!
Advantages: Cheapish, comfortable. Disadvantages: Costs £2 after certain time
...end of Broad Street The Australian Bar is standard setting start, or a great end to the traditional Broad Street pub crawl. Prices are amongst the best on Broad St, and a good atmosphere makes the Australian Bar one of the top pubs on Broad St. With down under staff, and aboriginal art scattered around this bar appears to have made a big effort to create an Aussie feel. Big tv screens usually show sports and a good range of music is also played, ... ...function room upstairs is available after the pub closes, but I have never been up so it would be unfair to comment on it. A lot of seating is availiable and a few nice setees are also around, but these are quite popular. Good looking girls and cool beer make it definatley worth a visit. Careful of the gent's doors though, there seems to be something wrong with them! ...

the aussie bar in birmingham is an excellent pub to go to if you want to socialise with a few of your mates. it is situated on broad, the very heart of clublife in birmingham, and inside, it is extremely spacious and plenty of seating to go round. drinks are quite cheap, and this would be an ideal place to start the night if you plan to go to a night club after. it is mainly aimed for younger people than a local for older men. it has good music inside, ... ...great night out. if you intend to stay at this pub all night, then it might not really be for you. it can sometimes get overcrowded, and this gets annoying especially when you are standing up. however, if you intend to move on, this is a great starter to the night. ...

...and ended up at the australian bar! It was the best decision we made as we had a fantastic time. We got in for free at it was before 10 o clock (even though I am not sure you have to pay after this time either) and danced all night to loads of cool music. There was a live band playing songs from The Calling and Keane to Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams. After they had finished playing and in between the inervals a mmixture of pop, r&b and rock was played. ...

Advantages: serves great Aussie food Disadvantages: Worth booking in advanced to get a table downstairs
Cross Field is an Australianbar in the centre of Vienna, on the Maysedergasse, bang slap next door to the Restaurant of Hotel Sacher and only 100 metres or so from the Opera House. Usually I expect Australianbars to be very boisterous, but this one is certainly more sedate than most. The bar is on two levels, on the ground floor there is a bar which serves your usual range and drinks, and then downstairs, in the basement there are the toilets, a table football machine and also a further bar with tables, where food is served, and where it is often necessary to book a table, as a lot of people book tables later in the evening. Both bars are very well lit.
Having been downstairs, I was slightly surprised not to see Fosters on tap, with the selection being either Kapsreiter or Ottakringer on tap(I would stick to the former ...

Advantages: Interesting and brand new Disadvantages: or is it really very old???
Australianbar and restaurant, Italian, Mexican, and a whole range of dining opportunities ranging from cheap and cheerful pizzas to luxurious dining--lots of things to suit any palate and budget! The Australianbar offers a great value breakfast buffet including coffee and orange juice for under 4Euros (approx £3) and there are lots of places to grab a sandwich snack at lunch and places to enjoy a nice long and languishing dinner in good company. Be sure to try the coffee and cakes at one of the eateries. If nothing takes your fancy in the main area, there are lots of hotels in the local vicinity, as well as a great sushi and fish bar. There are also more 'fast-food' choices in the shopping arcade.
Check out the huge cinema, which also includes an IMAX 3D screen; if this is busy, head down the road to the Discovery Channel IMAX. Most ...

Other creatures include Komodo Dragons, Turtles, Iguanas, wombats, Dingo?s, Emus, Tasmanian Devils, lots and lots of Snakes and even a few Camels.
Of course there are lots and lots of Kangaroos and again I was surprised at how wild they where and what damage they could do it you got a kick from one, their legs where huge! A huge pair of springs. The baby Roos however where approachable in a small ?petting? enclosure and many small kiddies where feeding them.
There where a multitude of shows going on throughout the day such as Tiger feeding, Tortoises, Elephants, Foxes, Birds of Prey
