THE AUSSIE BAR, BROAD ST, BIRMINGHAM
Advantages pub / club and they serve alcohol!!!
Disadvantages not all that aussie
Hi all!
It's been ages since I wrote an op, so I decided that it was about time I wrote one,TODAYS OPINION WILL BE ON...........
THE AUSTRALIAN BAR,So, last night I went up Birmingham with my work mates, and we decided to meet in the Australian Bar, This is a bar/club who have live bands, serve food, and get jam packed with people.
WHERE ABOUTS ON BROAD STREET IS IT SITUATED?The bar is right at the end of Broad Street, opposite the Brasshouse, Just past the canal bridge.
HOW BIG IS IT?It currently has four buildings knocked through, it's not huge, but it's big enough!!! It also has a club downstairs, but that's another op...
WHAT IS THE AGE RESTRICTION?18, As with most places, There are bouncers on the door, who find it quite exciting to refuse entry without ID..
IS IT EXPENSIVE?Yes! Well, no, it's not expensive for Birmingham, but it's no where near as cheap as your local wetherspoons!!! for 1 bottle of REEF it is £3.50, although they do occasionally put this on BOGOF! (Buy one, get one free!) it is around £4.00 for a single Vodka and Coke! (Sorry, I dont drink pints so I dont know how much they are!)
DO YOU HAVE TO PAY TO GET IN?Yes, it costs £2 on the door.
DOES IT GET CROWDED?Yes, it is a quite popular place, and it does get VERY busy!
IS THERE ANYWHERE TO SIT?Yes, there are some lovely comfy sofas, and a few normal pub chairs, there is a good chance of you getting a seat if you wait for a while!
ARE THERE ANY LIVE BANDS?Yes, there are often live bands on stage, these bands vary from time to time.
DO THEY SERVE FOOD?Yes, they serve a large selection of food, they have the menu on a screen behind the bar, notifying you of the "special offers"! - I wouldn't reccommend this for your main meal though as it's far from a restaurant! (I highly reccommend you try the Chicken Burritos from the stand outside, £3.95 each but certainly worth it!)
WHAT IS THE AGE RANGE?It really is all ages, there are some erm, yes, 16 year olds and there are some 40+ year olds, but i'd say the average age is about 25.
WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?Smart casual, they will let you in if you're wearing jeans!
Well, that was straight to the point - I hope, and I hope I have helped you gain more info on the Aussie Bar!!!Take Care,
Jade x

Would have liked to have read a little more about the atmosphere, your opinion of a band you heard there etc. It's got to have something to justify those drinks prices!
