...entering The Pearl we explored a few of the pathways for a leisurely if somewhat chilly stroll (it was -4'C). To the left of the car park, is Strokkur, a man-made geyser that imitates the natural spouting hot springs at Geysir. The pathways are surfaced making easy walking. The area is remarkably quiet considering its proximity to the city's ring road and domestic airport! The walk was lovely and should not be missed.
A number od impressive sculptures can be found outside The Pearl providing a good photo opportunity and should not be missed. Reykjavik is after all a city of sculptures!
Entry to The Pearl is free. You enter through a glassed entrance (directly in front of the large car park) into a large open space called The Winter Garden. The area is utilised through the year for a number of exhibitions and concerts. Sadly...

The Birmingham National Exhibition Centre is very well served by public and private transport links. It is a short shuttle bus ride away from Birmingham Airport, is very well served by trains to Birmingham International station and is at the heart of the motorway system.
What types of events are held at the NEC? How long is a piece of string? Motor shows (some of which the public are not invited to, as they are boring. I mean "trade only"!) fashion shows, food shows, a variety of trade shows from pump manufacturers to medical equipment shows and from commercial vehicle shows to pottery shows. "All human life is here" can be said of the NEC.
But what of the facilities...
