I pre-booked (and paid) for a return Austrian Airlines flight from London to Ankara via Vienna. On the early morning flight from London to Vienna no food was given - only a small coffee! I felt hungry. On my booked return from Ankara, at check-in I was told that the flight was "severly overbooked" and I was not allowed to board the flight. I was scheduled to travel on to the Netherlands on arrival in London and explained this to the staff at Ankara, who sympathised with me, but still could not put me on my scheduled flight. About 10 other people were also refused this flight. I was finally given a flight the next day, so I missed my schedule to Holland, had to pay extra car parking charges at London etc. I was told to go to the Austrian Airlines office at London Heathrow airport to claim compensation - which I tried to do but eventually was told "there is no Austrian Airlines office, contact the customer support department in Vienna" - which I did but they still have not responded. I feel I was really cheated by Austrian Airlines.

welcome to Ciao! sorry you had a bad experience. this review is really just a complaint about bad service than a review of the airline and what it offers. take a look at some airline reviews rated VH or E to see what Ciao-ers expect in terms of detail and opinion. have not rated this (as another SH rating would not do your community points any good!) but will gladly re-read and rate if you edit and let me know (leave a message in my guestbook). hope this helps!- Rob
