Advantages: Close to transport, clean hotel! Disadvantages: none
...In brief, this was a lovely hotel to stay at- in the heart of Vienna and close to all public transport links. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money.
I stayed here in June 2006.
Rooms:
I had a single room which came with a double bed, TV, wardrobe, shower, safe, minibar, fridge and table.
The room was spacious, had air con and was very clean. I had a fantastic view of the park outside and the only gothic cathedral in Vienna which was right next door. the maid came in every day and the room was cleaned to a high standard. The bed was comfortable and although there was no iron, when requeste it was brought straight up to my room with an ironing board.
Facilities:
There as no PC with internet connection however there was a wreless internet connection in the lobby for use...

Advantages: Cheap, Reliable Disadvantages: Weekly tickets not available to buy on trams
..., then I would recommend a week ticket (EUR 12.50) as it covers all the trams, buses, Schnellbahn trains and underground lines within Vienna. The 72 hour ticket is slightly less expensive. Weekly passes and monthly passes are available from all Tabak/Trafik as well as from ticket machines, and hotels often have tickets available from reception too.
The Schnellbahn services are only useful from getting from one side of Vienna to the other, and offer effectively a comparable service to Sprinter trains, as their also serve commuter routes. For Schnellbahn sections within the city (Schnellbahn lines are prefixed with an S) your travel card is valid. Similarly if you travel on the Schnellbahn into Vienna, you can of course buy a ticket for it up to the edge of the city and thereafter use your travel pass to travel further into the city.
