AutoEurope are definitely the best of the best. I went to mainland Europe for a two week holiday last year to visit my family again and since I took a lot of presents along (and also intended to bring a sack full of things back over) I decided to go by car, rather than fly. And all-inclusive with AutoEurope does mean all-inclusive: unlimited mileage, VAT, CDW, green card, etc - all included. The only thing I had to pay extra, was the petrol during my journey.

AutoEurope are definitely the best of the best. I went to mainland Europe for a two week holiday last year to visit my family again and since I took a lot of presents along (and also intended to bring a sack full of things back over) I decided to go by car, rather than fly. I rang around and checked the official web sites of about a dozen big car rental companies (incl. Sixt, Budget, Alamo, Europe Car etc.) and the best quote I could find for a 14-day-all-inclusive-rental to the mainland for a Mondeo-size car was from Europe Car at around £450.
Then I stumbled over AutoEurope's web site and requested a quote - and was flabbergasted. I was quoted an all-inclusive-rate of £320 - an amazing £130 cheaper than the best offer I got so far. Ironically, as I found out when I picked up the car, it was Europe Car who fulfilled the rental. Basically I got the exact same rental which Europe Car quoted me £450 for through AutoEurope as an agent for £130 less. And all-inclusive with AutoEurope does mean all-inclusive: unlimited mileage, VAT, CDW, green card, etc - all included. The only thing I had to pay extra, was the petrol during my journey.
The whole booking was done solely over the internet. I paid the deposit by credit card and received a confirmation e-mail, which I printed out and took to the airport when I collected the car, and there I also paid the remainder. If anyone should have any queries, they do provide a contact phone number in the confirmation e-mail (and also on their web site).
I was so satisfied that I booked another hire car with AutoEurope for another mainland holiday later on in the year. This time I booked a Mondeo-size car from pick-up point Amsterdam, for a cross country journey to Germany and return to Amsterdam. For this 9-day rental I pay £220 all-inclusive. So far I couldn't find another offer from a different company, which even comes close.
Advantages: Easy to navigate web site and a very nice car. Disadvantages: Lengthy process to pick up car and prebooked baby seat not ready.
...get the best deal and AutoEurope had it. I booked an automatic people carrier with A/C for a week in Montpellier for £290. When we arrived at the airport the car hire area was over run with desperate tourists trying to get their keys and start their holiday, I was one of them. We queued for 30 minutes and was finally seen by the one member of staff they had manning the desk. The forms where pretty standard, we had to pay extra for a baby seat which ... ...they would bring the baby seat to the car, but this did not happen and my partner had to go in and get it, after another wait. The baby seat was pretty tatty and came with no instructions. Unlike the car which was fantastic, roomy, clean, comfortable and worked like a dream. I am not the type of person who changes their car on a yearly basis but this really made me want a new car. Even my partner was impressed, usually the first to complain about ...

I first wrote this review when I booked the car and based on that experience, I can truely recommend Auto-Europe as a great alternative to holiday autos..... NOT only did I get a remarkable cheap deal...(less than £600 for 4 weeks, Passat) but recently they sent me an email saying that the boooking I made was now actually available for £49 less and arranged a refund.... unbelievable service and very cheap. The deal they gave me was with Europecar, ... ...offering them selves, so read on and then just do it!
This is, at the moment a brief review, I have as you may have seen reviewed and used Holiday autos to book cars in the past, until last weekend that is.... While searching for the best deal for my summer vacation I was trawling the internet for car deals, I was looking to book a mid sized car with A/C for 4 weeks in august to drive around France and Spain. Of course I went straight to holiday ...

Can I say how good we found AutoEurope. The car I booked was a 2 door with no AC, we actually had a 4 door with AC. As it was a holiday in Cyprus the AC was needed. The car was nearly new and much bigger than I expected. All in all I would recommend them to anybody who asked . ...

I feel ripped off by auto europe !! They provide a low price for a car rental so you book them. Then, when you pick up the car (at National, LaGuardia) you have no choice but to immediately pay a full tank of gas at a "special" price which is more then double of the cost at the pump. I always return rental cars with full tanks so I absolutely did not want this "option" which not even is an option because I had no choice but to pay. National say that ... ...and auto europe say it is obliged by National. Another "fine feature" of this "option" is that you get no refund for any gas left in the tank when you return the car. In my case that was half a tank (because we had to drive very slowly because of snow) so I ended up paying $49.18 for half a tank of gas worth $12.
Great service auto europe NOT !!
In their reply to my complaint they told nothing but lies so : A VO I D !! ...

Big Thieves. When I made the online resevation, it was $50 and said that the amount due was zero. However when I rented the car, I had to pay another surcharge of $45. The rental agency told me that it was because I had used autoeurope to book the car. They said that it would not have been the case if I had booked directly through them (and would have costed me $70).... So I ended up paying a lot more for no good reason.... Called up Customer Service, but what can you really expect... Moral of the story: They have a lot of fine print, be careful. ...

We had a terrible experience with Goldcar in ALICANTE, spent 3 hours at their desk, always being dumped because of a customer behind us as if we were not customers ?! We booked a car from Goldcar online (using their Dealer "AutoEurope"), then when we arrived we had to pay the the fuel deposit. We had a VISA credit card and they tried using it and said it doesn't go through. We didn't have another credit card, they don't accept cash. But we used this card a ay ago for online shopping and t was working fine, never had issues with it before. We rang our bank, it said everything is fine with the card and they don't see that anyone would have been trying to charge it (Goldcar). Which means that there was something wrong with Goldcar's card processing system.. Then we were told to ring Autoeurope as they were the one's we dealt ...

I have used Budget car hire on a number of occasions from Belfast International Airport over the years. I usually book through an on-line agent called 'AutoEurope' who provide very competitive rates & discounts for regular use.
The service provide by Budget staff is at best patchy. I normally book insurance in advance to protect my excess wavier of £600 which Budget charges anything up to £17.50 a day for. My on line charge works out at £3.80 a day for the same cover, when you decline it from the Budget staff they do get a bit tetchy, I guess they must get a percentage from the booking.
One day I refused their excess protection & so then they added 'cross border' insurance for travelling to Dublin with. When I queried this charge, again they become very tetchy. I stated that each time I used Budget they ask me where I'm travelling ...
Advantages: great customer service fast and efficient Disadvantages: expensive extras
I rented this car through autoeurope and was surprised that it was avis when my confirmation came through, as i have always thought that avis were very expensive. I paid £176.00 for medium size car for eight days rental which included a £20 discount as it was booked on line. This covered basic insurance - theft protection , as we were going to ireland for new year we upgraded to fully comp, about an extra £60 plus £40 petrol which we had to pay at dublin airport. Felt slightly ripped off from petrol prices but have option to return tank full and have that refunded but who's got time to fill up when you have flight to catch and have just travelled the width of the country, Petrol is alot cheaper in ireland than here. Picking up and dropping off was really easy as counter right near exit . We arrived 45 mins early and the car ...
