In December 2005 I hired a car from Autolinx. They have a very large advert in the Yellow pages taking up the whole page so stupidly I thought must be ok. I needed the car rather desperately as my Mother had passed away and I needed to get to my Father quite quickly etc. The initial delivery of the Car was ok although I wasnt too happy with regards to the three blank credit card receipts they say they need to take with my signature on them. An explanation for this was one was for the car hire, £500 deposit and the third was for any extras incurred ie petrol etc. Although I wasnt too happy I was desperate so agreed. I was none too impressed with the car as it was damaged not only on the outside but the inside as well and when driven made a terrible squeaking noise when pressure was applied to the brakes still I needed to get around and wasnt too bothered.The Gentlemen that delivered the car and I use the word Gentlemen very flipently was not interested in filling out any paper work with reagards to the damage and was more interested in getting my signature on the three blank credit card reciepts may I also add that his english was terrible. At the end of the rental the car was collected but not at the specified time and they were 5 hrs late for the collection still I thought I would put it down to a bad experience and never use them again. 12 months on December 2006 I was checking my credit card statement for this month and there in Black and white is another debit of £85 taken by Autolinx . On telephoning them they were apologetic but were very eager to pass me on to there admin department who by the way have no telephone number only a E mail address. On sending an E mail it came back as an unknown address alarm bells are ringing off the hook for me by now so I phone back and he eventually gives me the correct email address. I have today recieved a email from a Natasha who says she does not believe that I have been charged again but gives no explanation of why they have re debited my card with the sum of £85 and advises me that she is looking into it!!! I await her response and until now have not heard. I have had to cancel my credit card which my bank has advised me to do and they also are going to investigate this payment which we believe was fraudently taken. I hope people who are going to hire a car from AUTOLINX read this reveiw and I hope they think twice as my situation still remains unresolved and I may be forced to take legal action as I am sure too many people let them get away with it because of all the hassle it involves. The moral of the Story DONT HIRE A CAR FROM AUTOLINX!!!!!
