Advantages: Very charming people, Very good hotel staff
Disadvantages: Roads and infrastructure

...I am in Mauritius right now, staying in a rented home. In fact, I was very amazed by some expressing negative feelings concerning their trip to Mauritius. Its the opposite. Namely, that if you go to a good hotel, like Le Paradis, Beachcomber, Le Meridien, Prince Maurice and Le Shandrani, you would be very far from being disappointed. In fact, I spent my days in Beachcomber hotel at Trou-Aux-Biches, in the North of the island. It was magnificent. Indeed, people are friendly, though most do not speak english, and to correct, the nicest beach is Pereybere, and not Grand Baie. Plus there are tons of things to see, like Domaine du Chasseur, Grand River South East, the Dutch landing in Mauritis at Mahebourg, Gris Gris, La Roche Qui Pleure, Trou d'eau douce, and the list goes on. I RECOMMAND TO ANY ONE WHO LIKE CHOPPING, BEACAUSE IT'S A GREAT FUN SHOPPING IN MARCHE AUX PUCES .FE VERY RENCH PEOPLE ARY FRIENDLY IT'S MAKE'S IT VERY VERY EASY TO SHOP FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T SPEAK THE LANGUAGE. Advantages: Absolutely beautiful, great scenery, good watersports activities, great restarurant - a great day out
Disadvantages: Since this is such a beautiful place, there are no disadvantages whatsoever - just go and see it

...This is a small island just off one of the world's truly great hotels - One & Only Le Touessrok. You get to this small island by hopping on a boat for the short journey from the mainland (about 5 mins). Once there, you will be dazzled by the pristine beach, the blue lagoon, and the wonderful views over the island of Mauritius itself. There are lots of great watersports to do on Ills aux Cerfs, including parasailing, snorkelling etc. The restraurant that is located between the trees just above the beach is absolutely wonderful!!! - go and try it! There are even colourful birds and parrots that will try to eat your food if you ponder over it too long - great for kids! Overall, one of the best places for soaking up the beach atmosphere in Mauritius.... Read review
