    Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit spread out if you want to walk a lot

    Earlier this year, in July, I went with some friends on a sight-seeing tour of Ayutthaya ( or to give it, its full name Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya ) the previous capital of Thailand. We went on a public holiday - one of the so called Buddha days that crop up through the year. This one was Kow Pansa, which marks the start of the "rains retreat", a two month period in the rainy season in which monks are supposed to stay within a their temples, and not wander around.     Advantages Advantages A very pleasant, un-hurried day trip.

    The Summer Palace, Ayuthaya and all point in between can be visited by luxury cruise along the Chao Phraya river. You can book the trip from the jetty of the Oriental Hotel, which involves a river trip in one direction and coach the other. You choose whether to go or return by boat, we did the latter. We had a fairly troublesome outward journey as the coach broke down just after leaving the Bangkok suburbs. We pulled into what appeared to be a scrap yard but was actually the coach depot, and spent the best part of an hour there whilst the driver and another guy canibalised one of the luxury ... more

    It is only 1 hour from Bangkok to Ayuthaya. Its full name is Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya,it was a former thai capital for 417 years before destruction by Burmese.Therefore, many ancient ruins and art works can be seen in a city had left as the one of Thailand's major tourist attractions. Then from the main amphoe of Ayuthaya go futher to amphoe Bang Pa-In, there is a beautiful Palace to touch you. This royal palace was constructed by King Chulalongkorn. Well, there are many places to attract you. Here,this province is also famous for the handicraft, carvings and any handmade stuffs..... ... more
