The reason why I love BB's so much is that it caters so well to groups. I've often felt in restaurants that if you go with a group and make some noise that other diners will get annoyed. ... ...downstairs and upstairs which are small so chances are you'll be on different tables if you go with a group but nobody minds people moving around or making noise which is really nice.
I've only ever been there with student societies as the big draw is that you can bring your own wine, but I've never had a bad meal there or a bad time. All the waitors are lovely and it's a good value night out - especially useful in a credit crunch! more

Definitely worth a visit, especially if it's a work/society/club night out!
Advantages: Cheap and cheerful Disadvantages: Not being able to sit the whole party together
I booked a table at BB's for our office Christmas outing a couple of years ago, on the recommendation of a work friend. It's located on Division Street, in the heart of the trendy part of Sheffield, but is very reasonably priced, probably for the students that visit the area.
It's a take your own wine Italian, but they are licensed as well. There was around 16 of us that went, and the only drawback we found was that the room they sat us in couldn't ... ...split onto two next to each other. That was the only downside though. The food was delicious, not expensive, only a small corkage charge for your own wine, very friendly staff and they provided crackers with it being Christmas. There was a really good atmosphere as well. It's not a huge restaurant, but there's a dining area downstairs and another small one upstairs, too.
To top it off, as organiser, they presented me with an italian cake for booking ...

Advantages: Great location, away from it all. Disadvantages: Noise from trains
Edale is in the northern part of the Peak District...well situated for trains from Manchester, and Sheffield. It's ideal for camping, B&B, walking and unwinding.
We stayed at the Fieldhead campsite, which is pretty basic (no powerpoints, so don't bother with your hairdryer), but there are others. The proximity of the railway station is convenient for access, but a bit of a nuisance when freight trains are rumbling past at 11pm.
Edale consists of 1 church, a few houses, the Peak Visitors Centre and 2 pubs. There's the Ramblers Inn (good beer, not so good food) and the charming 16th century Old Nag's Head (good beer, good food). Neither place is cheap.
Edale is at the start of the Pennine Way, and consequently gets more than its fair share of walkers passing through...but there are some excellent day-long walks to tackle, if you are ...
