After 5 previous trips to spain with airtours, i was glad to find that BMI Baby was now going to be travelling from Teesside to Malaga.

So i got myself on the internet and decided to see what their prices were like. I was quite shocked to see how low they were. So i decided that this seemed like a good airline to go with and it meant some extra spending money while i was out there.

The booking process was really easy, all i had to do was select where i wanted to fly from, to, how many people and on what dates. Then it quickly looked up whether the flights were available and how much it would be. Unlike any other bookings ive made online there was not a huge form to fill in, just a few details and then it was on to the confirmation bit. The company happily accepted my credit card and then sent me an email to confirm my booking.

It was suggested that i check the flight times a few days before depature incase they had changed, and this was easily done. They give you a number to type in and you need to have your credit card number to hand, but then you can check all your details.

Once at the airport, i happily checked in my luggage and sat back to wait for the flight. A couple of hours later and we were boarding the plane (on time i might add). The plane was tiny! And it seemed pretty old too and as a person who doesnt like flying, this was a bit worrying, but i managed to get past it and got to my seat.

Now i know this is a budget airline, but do the seats have to be so small? Im quite a slim person, but i do like to have some room to get comfy! On closer inspection of my chair, i could see that the seat cover was actually coming away from the foam part of the seat!

The only good part of the company was the friendly staff on board. They was all to happy to help with any thing you may require, although dont expect any decent food onboard as all they have is choc and pringles!

So after a lovely week in the sun it was back to Malaga airpirt for the flight home. I got there only to be told that the only way i was going to get my case home was if i was to pay them over 100 euro's! Yes i had gone over my baggage allowance a bit, but i never expected there to be this much fuss! After all there was two of us travelling so it was between the two cases.

I was told that i either paid the money there and then or my baggage was staying in Spain! Luckily i had a visa card to pay on, but there were a few people there that werent that lucky. It seems that although this is a low fare airline, they make all their money in excess baggage. The number of people that had to pay to get their luggage home on my flight was rediculus.

So if you are planning to travel with BMI Baby watch out!!!
