Advantages: Really Cheap country Disadvantages: Really far away
...One of the cheapest ways to travel around Hong Kong is to cross the between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon by the harbour ferry.
This is the cheapest boat ride you will ever take in your life and the crossing takes about 15 minutes. You then have the chance to choose which cabin you sit in the upper deck or first class for $1.50 Hong Kong Dollars or 2nd class on the lower deck for about $1 this costs in British pence between 8 - 12p depending whether you feel rich enough to sit up in first class. I wonder if Star ferries offers Frequent Flyer miles
The best way to travel and in style
Only in Hong Kong...

Advantages: Great variety of things Disadvantages: So humid
.... Another good shopping area is the extremely large centre that is conjoined with the Sha Tin MTR station, here there are cinemas(playing western and honk kong releases), arcades(games are about 35p each! all the latest ones as well like the drum machine and para para, DDR with hands!)and lots beside.

The prices for food are competitive so don't worry about breaking your wallet too much, unless you go to the posh hotels for the buffets such as the Peninsula where prices are £40 per head. Also if you don't mind spending money on good food I...

Advantages: Food and Shopping paradise Disadvantages: Pollution is quite bad
...I really feel that I should have a say on Hong Kong Island, considering the fact that I've lived there for more than 18 years. For a view of how Hong Kong has emerged as a truly international city, do go have a look.
First I'll have to start off where you leave the Hong KongInternational Airport. Take the Airport Express to Hong Kong Station, the first thing for a shop-aholic to do is to explore Central. Right where you come out of the station is the International Financial Centre, IFC1 and IFC2. This is the newest hip place to go in Central for shopping, no matter what you fancy, from big name brands like Versace, high street buys like Calvin Klein to the gigantic Japanese supermarket City Super, you can find anything here. Afterwards simply take a rest in the bookshop, Dymocks, or one of the numerous cafes in that area. If you still...

One of the most annoying things about the fact that my parents left Hong Kong is that now I have nowhere to stay for free when I pop up there. Of course, there are always friends to stay with, but considering that the average HK flat is the size of an... more
