Bacchus is one of the most original places I have ever drunk in. It has made an attempt to integrate history into drinking, with a drinking area that is enveloped into all manner of "historical" items. As the name suggests, the place is trying to model itself on some Grecian style, but to be honest this is poorly done. There are a number of interesting statues around the place, but there are also some conspicuous ranges of armour which looks more suited to medieval England! Why they did this I don't know, but as you look around the place I had the feeling that what might appear at first cultured, is in fact tacky. The drinks are expensive, because the place is meant to appear refined. The bar staff were nice, although it takes time to get served.

Advantages: Big comfy chairs, not too busy, chilled out bar Disadvantages: Sometimes a bit cold, especially if you end up sitting in the seat by the door, always left till last!
