Advantages: fantastic place to go Disadvantages: none
I was lucky enough to go to the Bahamas on holiday in April 2008. In our party there were 3 children and 3 adults.
We arrived at the airport to be met by a limousine, we were driven to The Atlantis hotel on Paradise Island…wow what a place. We were able to have a good look round whilst in the Limo, the weather was beautiful and when we arrived at the Hotel, you could see why it was called Paradise!!
The hotel was enormous; it had lots of different ... ...Beach Towers, The Cove Atlantis, The Reef Atlantis, Harbour side Resort, and Special.
We stayed in the Coral towers. Our room was large with 2 double beds in. It had a full stocked bar, which was checked daily and re-stocked…..beware, very expensive!
There was a large mirrored wardrobe and plenty of drawer space. There was a large TV in the room, but to be honest, with so much to do at the hotel, we never put the TV on. Every day the maids left ...
...in the bahamas (or rather grand bahama) seem to all be american with american accents. But they are very friendly saying hello as they pass almost without fail! They are also very tourist catered. FOOD AND DRINK
This is an important aspect of almost every holiday. The food is nice, very sea food based though! The specialty conch is supposed to be an aphrodisiac and is sold in all restaurants. It is quite tasty though! There is almost all types of ... ...one restaurant that does the best breakfast in the world! Its worth going there just for that! And who could forget the cocktails?? There is a lot of bars, but not in a bad way. There is this one cocktail which is a local drink called Bahama Mama. Its gorgeous! The only problem with this place is the price of food. All, just about food is imported, which means you get stuck paying import tax!! Its funny because sometimes you can see the original ...
Advantages: Excellent scenery Disadvantages: Had to come home!

Cat Island is off the normal tourist trail of the Bahamas, one of the outer islands. It's populated, but seemingly only just, with around 1700 locals and not a large number of long-stay visitors or holiday makers. It's as close to the deserted island paradise as one is likely to find. It's a long and skinny spit of land (56 x 4 miles at the widest) with the highest point ... ...------------------------------------------------------------------
Getting to Cat Island:
I flew BA direct to Nassau from London, Heathrow and had an overnight's stay before flying on to Cat Island. The resort has its own private airport if you happen to have your own plane or use a charter service, otherwise fly into New Bight (TBI) airport from Nassau by Bahamas Air or Lynx Air, available from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. It's an hour's drive from ...
Advantages: Ultra All-Inclusive, No Children, Can try new things for free, Sunshine Disadvantages: Long Flight (with screaming kids),
...and I set off for Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort, not sure what to expect or whether it would live up to all its hype. On arrival you are presented with a glass of champage, and checked into your room. One of our suitcases has not arrived at the airport, and the staff said when it did arrive they would deliver it to our room, which they did the following day. The room was lovely. On our second morning i discovered a crack in the bath with water disappearing ... ...someone come and check it out, they offered us another room, which was the same but further down the corridor, i asked if i could be upgraded for the inconvenience and we were given a superior room. No problems at all. The staff were very friendly and ever so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Although the mini bar was topped up daily we had run out of cokes and tomato juice, and like a magician out of a hat cokes and tomato juice appeared in ...
Advantages: The atractions Disadvantages: You will be mad when it's time to leave
The Bahamas is incredible. In the Bahamas there is a street parade with music called "Junkanoo", it is usually on december on the 26 and January the first.
