Castaway to Bahamian Paradise Advantages: Quality hotel at affordable price Disadvantages: Not on the beach ...chose to stay at the Best Western Castaways Resort in Freeport on Grand Bahama island because of the big brand name and the price - for the equivalent of a Liverpool Travelodge I could stay at an upscale hotel in paradise. The hotel is exterior corridor, but more secure than some because to get to those corridors you have to pass through the lobby and swipe through a door. The rooms are spread over 4 floors with the best being on the ground floor ... ...beaches to myself, plus less than 5 minutes of rain my entire stay, despite frequent thunderstorm warnings. What could be better? HAPPY HOLIDAY Advantages: GOOD FOOD & CHOICE OF RESTAURANTS, LOVELY POOLS, ISLAND, FREE WEDDINGS Disadvantages: BOOKING RESTAURANTS, LONG FLIGHT, CONVENTIONS, EXPENSIVE ...got - was expecting better. Only other niggle was there were a lot of people from one company there on some sort of convention booking which is not really what Sandals should be about (romantic getaway ?) . Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas Advantages: Aquarium, rides ,weather Disadvantages: Price of flights I went here about two years ago. From the moment we arrived it was amazing. After a 25 minute drive from the airport ( may be longer/ shorter at certain times of the year) we arrived at the hotel. We raced up to our rooms and found they were of a good size.( I advise 2 people to a room for extra comfort) It had all the stuff you needed. It had a tv , minibar, nice bathroom and everything else you would want. We then went down to the aquarium, restraunts ... ...say this was better. It had a restaurant surrounded by shark tank on 3 walls, a slide than shot you through a shark tank, the chance to feed rays and turtles and lots of other rides. They have also added a new dolphin attraction in the past few months where you can go swimming with the dolphins. Later that night we went into nassau. As we waited on a taxi a man got out a limosine and approached us offering a lift. Rundown Property Advantages: beach Disadvantages: noise I stayed at this <a href="http://www.vacation-trip.eu/Hotels-Nassau-NewProvidenceIsland-Bahamas-Caribbean,541086237.html">hotel </a> for one day with my friend as we were unable to find any other place to stay at. The hotel has a nice entrance with marble floors. But all our nice thoughts about the hotel vanished once we got to our room. The place looked totally rundown from inside. Our room had a foul smell and it was not very clean. Same story ... ...to another room; the manager obliged after a lot of fuss. The hotel has a nice restaurant and a nice beach with shark nets. Apart from these two things, I have nothing good to say about the property. We planned our day in such a way that we only needed to come to the hotel for a shower and our night's sleep. The staff of this hotel needs a lot of training in customer service. I found them to be quite inefficient and lazy. All inclusive Advantages: family friendly, all inclusive, next to beach Disadvantages: can get busy during spring break I stayed at the Radisson Cable Beach & Golf Resort with my husband for our wedding and honeymoon. The hotel is brilliant. The rooms are big, clean and with beach view and there is entertainment on every day and night. You can also find 5 different restaurants within the hotel, which are all very nice and different. The Radisson Hotel has their own beach right in front of the hotel where you can chill out while enjoying frozen pina coladas from the ... ...pool tables and table tennis all between the hotel and the beach. They make sure you don't get bored and organize different activities (for children and adults) everyday. The all Inclusive food/drink facilities are brilliant, as there are so many restaurants and bars you can choose from.
