Advantages: Comfortable hotel, laid back surroundings, good for non-swimmers Disadvantages: poor telephone service
...The Hotel Condessa de la Bahia is part of the Mar Hotels chain, who offer, good, clean and comfortable rooms. This particular hotel is in the middle of Alcudia on a 7km stretch of pure golden sandy beach. The hotel lays directly on the sea front, so is ideal for those who want a beach holiday. The Hotel has 5 floors which is served by 2 lifts. The staff are very friendly and all staff speak English. Prices in the hotel are very reasonable - a large pina colada will set you back only 750PTE (under £3). A buffet breakfast and dinner is served with very flexible hours. I had one vegetarian guest with me and he was very well catered for. A full entertainment programme is available in High Season from end June onwards with activities during the day for all the family. The evenings enterainment is carried out on stage at the back...

Advantages: The list is endless........ Disadvantages: Not Cancun
...This was the first Bahia Principe resort me and my wife (then girlfriend) visited. We'd booked to go all inclusive to Malta (probably not the best way to do Malta with hindsight) and were all geared up for it until three days before we were due to fly. We got a letter from the travel agents saying there was a change in the circumstances and that our hotel was having building work done. We went into the travel agents and were offered an alternative. After several hours (or so it felt) of staring at a computer screen we found one! Mexico! WOW! Bit of a step up for us (our only other holiday together was to Spain) we had a bit extra to pay but we covered it and got ready for Mehico!
Long haul flights are long haul flights and we all get through them in our own ways (good book, crafty bottle of duty free Bacardi and a few cans of Coke...

Advantages: Just an awesome place to stay! Disadvantages: Although the complex has everything, the nearest town is 20mins away.
...I stayed in this hotel last year! We actually stayed in the Tulum Hotel which is one of the 3 hotels connected to the complex. It was fantastic. From the moment we arrived and were given a champange cocktail things looked good. The food was all inclusive and of the highest standard, various other restaurants and snack bars were also available until midnight 7 days a week. The Tulum sits on the beach, which has windsurfing and scuba diving available to guest staying in the hotel. The entertainment was very family orientated which is ideal for people wanting to take there kids away. Although be aware that this hotel complex is about 40 mins drive from Cancun and therefore a little out of the way. Saying that I wouldnt hesitate in returning there....

Just got back from a 2 night 3 day stay at the New York and it was great! Hotel is in a excellent location, a 2 minute walk from the Disney Village and only 5 minutes from the Disney Parks. Check in was 3pm but the hotel allowed us to check in at 10:30... more
The New Yorker is in an excellent midtown location with the subway (lines A, C & E) literally steps outside. Being on the corner of 8th Avenue and 34th Street this meant good access to Macy's, Empire State Building, Madison Square Gardens and the... more
Postmodernism, eh? It's a funny old bag of fish. Even the holier-than-thou critics don't quite seem to know what it's all about. They argue whether it's
a) a revolt against modernism,
b) a progression of modernism,
c) both of these and more
or d) more
