My wife and myself holidayed here feb 2005. On arrival to the island and traveling through the various resorts en route to the hotel you notice how dirty the island is, it made you wonder how clean the hotel complex was gonna be. We were amazed on arrival to how spottlesly clean the complex was and how friendly and helpful the staff are. We tried to unload our own luggage from the coach but was stopped by the porter who we tipped at the airport who made sure our luggage made it to our room.
The resort itself is huge with its own transport system which you can stop wherever you like!
The rooms are big light and airy and well appointed with a hairdryer, aircon unit, a well stocked mini bar(which was refilled daily and if was running low you could phone reception and get it topped up early), sat TV. The hot water was sometimes a bit scarce if you showered to early or to late.
The main restaurant was great for breakfast you could get eggs and omletes cooked to your liking while you waited, plus all the usual brekkie stuff plus international items which seemed a bit strange for breakfast but was great.
Lunctimes from what we saw had a good selection as well (we didnt use this much as usually had a good fill at brekkie and didn't bother with lunch. There was also a beach side snack bar you could use as well
Evening meals were good but could of used a few extra visits to the themed restaurants. The main area was ok but after being there for 2weeks and using up your themed restaurant allowances got a bit repetitive and boring. The themed restaurants on the other hand were fantastic the food was great with plenty of choice, but be warned if you are a party of 4 or more book your places as early as possible as the get booked up real quick.
The daytime activities for adults and kids was great rangeing from keep fit classes in the morning to bombing competitions in the afternoon! be very wary if you are asked to judge any poolside competitions as you are liable to get very wet.
The evening entertainment was just as entertaining with family orientated stuff in the main hall, and more grown up themes in the strip.
There is a street which is part of the hotel and allinclusive deal which had a couple of gift shops themed bars, night club and casino. Again as with the rest of the complex it was very clean...until you want to use the toilets or should i say toilet. there is a distinct lack of toilet facitlites in the strip was on occasion left a nasty smell in the air dispite the staffs efforts to keep it clean.
Now comes the bad points. The main swimming pool was great but was in need of refurbishment as the bottom was very rough in places and whilst we were there several of the guest managed to cut their feet due to the fact.
Although the beach itself was spotlessly clean the sea wasn't very inviting it had a lot of seaweed everywhere and the visability of the water wasnt good either. for all those who want to know i paid £749 each per person
