...about 1.5 hours to get to our hotel, a journey which normally takes only 40 minutes. We booked 2 rooms at the Baiyoke Sky Hotel, the tallest building in Thailand. I have written another review on this hotel so if you like to know more please read that review. I strongly recommend staying at this hotel especially if this is your 1st visit to Bangkok. It's really an experience staying there. Read my other review and find out why.
As our group only has females, the receptionist upgraded us to the Lady's Floor (65th floor). At first we were told that we could only go up to our rooms after 2pm but shortly after that she said the rooms are ready which made us all very happy as we woke up at 4am that morning to catch our flight and certainly would like to refresh before going out again. Before taking the lift, we noticed that there was a Family...

Advantages: Excellent service, location and large rooms Disadvantages: Can't think of any
...This is an excellent 4* hotel. The building is the tallest building in Thailand and staying there itself is an experience. There are three zones and the lobby itself is on 18th floor. The hotel is also known as Baiyoke 2 hotel. Same taxi drivers do not know it by Baiyoke Sky but rather Baiyoke 2 Hotel so take note.
Introduction:
The rooms are in standard zone, sky zone and space zone. If you are staying on 22nd to 45th floor, it's the standard zone. Space zone is from 69th floor to 74th floor. Needless to say, the higher you go, you get to see more of Bangkok from your room. The rooms are all very big by even Asia standard and if you book online, the rates could be cheaper than a 3* hotel.
Location:
Very central location. As soon as you step out the building, the road in front of the hotel is full of stalls selling cheap (very...

Advantages: excellent food, good rooms, good pool Disadvantages: none really
...This really is an excellent hotel. I stayed here about two years ago and it is definitely one of the top few hotels I have been to. My family and I ate in a couple of the restaurants and one of them was outstanding. The other, where you cook your own food was slightly confusing and we didn't really get to grips with it so it wouldn't be fair to criticise. However, the main restaurant where we ate several times for breakfast, lunch and dinner was superb. We usually ate from the buffet and both the selection and quality of the food was outstanding.
The leisure facilities at the hotel were good too. I often used the rooftop pool and this wasn't busy and always had a pool attendant. There was also a gym, which my dad used, and several shops, including a tailor providing good-value suits - although this is normal in Thailand.
The location...

As a fairly regular visitor to Bangkok, I always book flights and then sort out my own accommodation rather than get a package deal. Accommodation is cheap and plentiful there, we're talking £10 - £15 per night for what might equate to a three star... more
I choose this hotel as a result of a special offer on 'asiarooms'. On arrival we were promptly shown to our room by a very helpful member of staff.
The Deluxe room was a lot bigger tahn other hotels I have stayed in. However, it did seem a little... more
