I am quite impressed with the amount of people raving about how good Baja is. Well i want to try and counter balance this arguement.
In Newcastle, when it comes to nights out, there is absolutely everything! There are clubs to suit all; dance, rock, jazz and pop clubs-a-plenty.
Most people who visit Newcastle, will do the Bigg Market and the quayside. Because of this, it is inevitable you will end up in Baja. Baja is the place to be to get cheezy pop music from all eras, which are guarenteed to put everybody in a good mood. You all know the songs I'm talking about, its like being in a School Disco.
Costs to get in can vary, but on a monday night its cheap night. It costs £3 on the door. On a weekend i think it goes up, and on certain days you must be 21 to go in. However, in my opinion, if you are 21 and you are going in, then you seriously need to grow up. Baja is where all the underage kids go who cant get in anywhere else. I know because I was one of them!!!
Drinks are roughly about £2 each, but be prepared to wait awhile for service.
My problem with Baja is that when you have been in most of the bars in Newcastle, you have probably already been listening to these tunes all night, and this place just mixes them together and lets you dance. But by this point, you are usually quite bored of them.
My suggestion is to go there once, just so you can say you have been. Soak up the naff cheese of it, and then next time head somewhere you can get some serious clubbing done eg. Foundation.
As for the food, i dont think its cheap at all, and isnt really that nice either. Its the only place you can sit in the place, so be prepared to buy some food otherwise they will turf you.
(Note...title was changed because people assumed i didnt know how to pronounce it, it was simply a joke that people in Newcastle would get..sorry for the misunderstanding lol :-P)
