If you're looking for a good night out in Newcastle then you need look no further than Baja. (Okay - technically not in Newcastle, but just across the bridge form Newcastle's quayside in Gateshead). Not easy to find, but either follow the crowds over the bridge or fork out £2 on a taxi.
A great night out any day of the week, but I must recommend Monday nights in particular. A ridiculously cheap £2 entry, and reasonably priced drinks (£2 a bottle - Bud, Metz, WKD & more). Baja also sells a large variety of cocktails (it is a beach club, after all) and has a self-contained burger bar/restaurant with surprisingly resonable prices.
Music-wise, Baja is not for "hard-core" clubbers (see Ikon or the nearby boat/club Tuxedo Princess). Instead it offers a mix of top 60s/70s/80s/90s music, as well as a selection of the best dance tracks currently around.
And the girls, oh! the girls.....
However, remeber to go early. Only go after 11pm if standing in queues for hours on end is your thing. My advice, go b4 10 - and even then you'll probably have to wait 10 mins or so.
