Advantages: Good shopping, bars and clubs Disadvantages: Can be sleazy
...I spent the summer of 2003 working in California and during that time, I paid several visits across the border to Tijuana. When I told my work colleagues I was planning a trip, I was greeted with various, mostly negative reactions.
"I hope they let you back into the states"
"The police are corrupt, they'll arrest you for anything and take bribes".
Tijuana is notorious for trouble and has a bad reputation amongst lots of Americans, who will no doubt have a story about "a friend of a friend who was arrested for crossing the street and has never been seen again" but my opinion is that, it is fine to visit as long as you are sensible.

...The cheesiest club in the Northeast has to be Baja - a beach themed club in Gateshead which plays the likes of Jackson 5. but its strangely really fun!!
Situated on the edge of the Tyne on the Gateshead side of the swingbridge and nextdoor to the Tuxedo Princess aka "the boat" Baja is at the centre of one of Newcastles biggest nightspots, nearby to loads of pubs and bars to get u started on a night out. From what i can gather Baja is open all week, with the main party night on Saturday when all the locals come down toon to party!!
Baja basically is a beach themed nightclub, emphasising on just having really good fun rather than hardcore clubbing. The main clientele is students and locals late teens and early twenties and there is really no hastle betwen locals and students with everyone really friendly towards each other...

Advantages: Cheesy, Has the Tunes on, good for a laugh Disadvantages: Only go once, gets very boring. expensive, some people take it seriously

Most people who visit Newcastle, will do the Bigg Market and the quayside. Because of this, it is inevitable you will end up in Baja. Baja is the place to be to get cheezy pop music from all eras, which are guarenteed to put everybody in a good mood. You all know the songs I'm talking about, its like being in a School Disco.
Costs to get in can vary, but on a monday night its cheap night. It costs £3 on the door. On a weekend i think it goes up, and on certain days you must be 21 to go in. However, in my opinion, if you are 21 and you are going in...
