...On Saturday October 12th 2002 just after 11pm a small bomb exploded in Paddy’s Bar on Legian Street in Kuta, Bali. This was shortly followed by a huge explosion that came from a car parked across the street outside the Sari Club. Both Paddy’s Bar and the Sari Club were full of young people; travellers, tourists, surfers, honeymooners, ex-pats, bar staff, doormen, prostitutes, DJs. A mix of people from all over the world and from all walks of life, all with one thing in common, to drink, dance, mingle and enjoy themselves. Both bombs killed people outright, and then fires started. Most buildings in Bali are made mainly of wood, these were no exception, the fires spread rapidly, and the buildings collapsed trapping hundreds of people. Advantages: Great Weather

...Bali is paradise on earth, from the weather to entertainment you will feel like a king or queen. But it seems that paradise comes a bit expensive and all the angels trying to rip you off. Unfortunately it is overpriced and very commercial, it think it’s the only place that Hard Rock Café has a 5 star Hotel there. Bali was beautiful maybe 5 to 10 years ago and it still is but try to ignore places like Kuta, I felt that I was in Spain!!! But one thing that Bali didn’t fail to deliver was the beautiful women... Advantages: Cheap, sunny and plenty to do
Disadvantages: Can be loud with the nightlife

...there was surfing which was great fun, many surf schools that you can have lessons with or even just hire equipment and go out on your own….. Surfing in hot water is great. There is also a water park called Water-Bom. This I would truly recommend. You can buy a ticket and get half price entry for a second visit on your holiday if you're staying for a while. The park has about five slides and pools, lots of outdoor activities to partake in and lovely sunbathing areas. When we went to the park it was an independence day and there was lots of singing and dancing and my husband got roped into a tug of war competition. The Indonesians are very friendly people and will do anything to encourage tourists to return to their beautiful country since the Bali Bombings. If you fancy a relaxing holiday then there are hotels to stay in that have everything... Read review
