This hotel wa listed as 3+ stars we would award it 2 tops Hotel Fronts to Party Street. We arrived 3a.m. hotel front littered with ladies of the night and empty beer bottles. Hotel reception staff, gruff and unhelpful. normal response "I dont know" appeared to have English until addressed in English. Bedrooms clean and linen changed frequently, no complaint here other than to say we were robbed while at breakfast! only access to room possible - cleaners. Management totaly uninterested said all money should be in safety box in hotel recetion - rather impractable our main valuables were certainly there, some money you need to survive! Pool was small and shaded with approx 20 sunbeds and 1 parasol for approx 200 guests. These were expensive to hire. Pool generally unkept, pool boy slept under the single parasol all day! tiled area very slippy when damp also very high step to childrens pool. All sun beds removed at 4.30 in afternoon as boy had other job. Grass area sprouted thistles and weeds after rain but left unkept Steps to beach noted on brouchure were dangerous as in bad state of repair, some were missing. Menu appeared fair provided you accepted eastern dishes. All food was cut up into very small portions, including apples and oranges and left uncovered during meals. Resturant staff were generally polite but under pressure of guest numbers as 2nd week was busier. They became harrassed as dishes and cutlery seemed in short supply and occasions so was food. Balkan reps were pleasant but generally appeared unable to help when issues arose. e.g. theft from room and liasing with hotel staff. Unable to book trips in hotel unless paying cash had to walk long distance to Balkan office to use visa - in this day and age a bit behind normal? Golden Sands should be noted in brouchure for what it is which is less than family style holiday!!
