...top of Conic Hill, near Balmaha at the south of the Loch all the way through to more modern pursuits like Golf and water sports. For those who want to simply relax, there are spa hotels, gentle walks through amazing scenery, over 200 species of birds to watch, and wild plants galore. Or if all you want to do is sit back with a nice glass of wine and enjoy a boat tour of the Loch, well you can do that too! Basically there is something for everyone ... ...and get a bus to Balmaha or have you're hotel arrange to pick you up. Alternatively, hire a car, and drive. The scenery will blow your mind and you'll really have try hard to concentrate on the road! Again, flying into Glasgow Airport and hiring a car is easy, and it's not difficult at all to navigate to Balmaha, as everything is clearly signposted.

Balmaha is a beautiful Scottish village on the shores of the twenty-five mile long - Loch Lomond. I confess to being slightly biased about Balmaha as I live here and think it’s the most beautiful place on earth but other people do too. Its difficult to believe that its only a 40 minute drive from Glasgow. It is going to be part of the first Scottish National Park due to be opened next year. There are only about seventy people living in Balmaha ... ...Most people come to Balmaha for the multitude of lochside and woodland walks, but others come for fishing or boating, to laze around on the beach or have a barbecue. The boatyard hires out rowing boats or ones with an outboard motor but also makes boat trips around the islands. The most popular trip is the mail boat – this takes the mail around the islands.
