Set just outside of Brockenhurst in the heart of the New Forest National Park, The Balmer Lawn Hotel sits away from the main road with a cricket pitch out the front and a river just to the right of it.
The hotel has 55 spacious en-suite rooms, some with 4 poster beds, some family rooms, some with fantastic views of the New Forest and some with balconies. There are no two rooms the same as all have been individually designed to add to the uniqueness of your stay.
All rooms have their own tvs, and if you are in a family room, there are games consoles to keep the kids happy and quiet on a rainy day.
The hotel has four different styles of rooms: Standard (twin or double bed rooms), Superior (with a bit more style and comfort and overlooking either the cricket pitch or the New Forest), Four-Poster (with a Queen sized Four Poster Bed, or if your lucky to get room 30 it has a King sized four poster bed, plasma screen tv and a glass wall to the bathroom) and the Family rooms, where you can have the kids in the room with you or if they are that little bit older they can be in an adjoining room with interconnecting doors.
All rates for the room include: Full English Breakfast Full access to the Hotels leisure facilities (which include Swimming pools, Spa, Gym, Tennis Court and Squash Court) Free Wi-Fi Broadband access in the Hotel Lounge Games consoles, games and DVDs (subject to availability.)
The Balmer Lawn also has a fantastic restaurant (which has an AA Rosette for Fine Dining) and while you sit and eat there is a Pianist that plays and helps create that special mood. With a fantastic menu that includes Beef, Seafood and Game, there is always something different and delicious to sink your teeth into.
The prices to stay at the lawn can be a little bit expensive (prices from around £60 per night), but they do a range of deals on short stays which can be quite a nice little treat for you and your loved one.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to visit somewhere that is unspoilt (the New Forest) and quiet and peaceful, or who just wants to get away from it all and treat their loved one to a night or even weekend that they will always remember.
The hotel is also dog friendly, so if you cant bear to leave your dog at home or in kennels, they will always be welcome through the doors at The Balmer Lawn Hotel.
The staff at the hotel were all friendly and made the stay that extra bit special, anything you needed they would quite happily get for you.
