The other review of this hotel looks suspiciously like it might have been written by someone with a vested interest in it... anyway, make up your own mind.
Without saying too much, I thought that for £140 per night, this place wasn't really quite up to scratch. The rooms are a bit small, the decor a bit hit and miss, and generally, and most importantly, it isn't really the 'country house hotel' it makes itself out to be. It is in the country, and it is a hotel, but it's not quite there. Next time I'd either go to a B&B and pay half this amount, of spend another 60ish punds and stay somewhere really nice.
At 80 per night this would be reasonable. 100 tolerable. 140 is excessive.
