Advantages: Food is great, brilliant service Disadvantages: None
...King is how they cater for your needs – if you can't eat all you're given, then you can just ask one of the nice waiters to box it up for you, and you can take it home for later. It isn't just shoved in a bag either – the baltis are put into nice boxes and sealed, which the naans are wrapped up for you. Top service. And a nice midnight meal of balti too.
- My legs have turned to jelly
If you're a really lazy, um, so-and-so, you can even order in from Balti King, and if you live within their 3-mile radius, you get free delivery too. So you eat your balti from the comfort of your own home – what more could you want!
- Truly the King of Baltis
If all that hasn't got you running for the door/telephone, then get this: Balti King even sells it's own MERCHANDISE, it's that popular. Bloody hell, you're saying. Well, the meals...

Advantages: Great for children or chavs Disadvantages: Bad food, accomodation, prices
...from the lack of lighting and we started to wonder why we had "upgraded" to this.
Half board ment we had breakfast and dinner included in our price, so after we unpacked we went to eat. Half board people all eat in the Coral beach food court which has lots of tables and seating. You get to choose from a salads, traditional dishes, fish, kiddies, soups, pasta and desserts so the choice is pretty good. We had chose to have roast chicken, but when we got there, they had run out, then they ran out of pasta, then fish, so we ended up with a dish of cold vegetable balti with cold rice. The portion sizes were appaling, although the dessert of chocolate cake was fantastic. When we left, the queue to get in the restaurant was huge, and what they ate i dont know, probably huge plates of chips, which would suit most of the type of people there fine...

Advantages: Eat wonderful food in a great place. Disadvantages: Not centrally located
...but we would definitely travel across the city to eat here as the food and service is so good.
Let’s get the crap name out of the way first. Teknaf is anything but ‘naf’ the interior is finished to a high standard and it looks more like a city centre bar than your typical Indian restaurant. There is plenty of lightwood, glass and polished chrome with atmospheric lighting and chilled music playing in the background. The staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing seems too trivial and they always have time for you. Also Teknaf is fully licensed and has an extensive bar. A few years ago Balti houses were all the rage ‘you can bring your own booze!’ this is fine (more often than not the food wasn’t) but what if you run out or forget to bring any. I much prefer a restaurant to have a bar so that I can booze without restraint.
If you check out...

Advantages: Good price, good quality Disadvantages: None
...The Balti International restaurant on Bristol Road has always a favourite haunt of many a Birmingham University, and recently they started a buffet menu at £6.95 My original thought was of horror as I had seen a number of buffet and "all you can eat" Balti houses already and had visions of a little chunk of meat floating around in a vast pot of sauce! However, at £6.95 I was nothing less than satisfied, if not more than satisfied. An excellent meal and excellent value at the price. Highly, highly recommended....

Advantages: Tasty food, good atmosphere Disadvantages: Waiters sometimes a little slow
...Balti International is a student haven as far as Indian food is concerned. A welcoming atmosphere awaits you as soon as you step through the door, and you can smell those exotic smells of fresh spices straight away. You are led to your table shortly, and sat down, sometimes with some free house wine. The selection of dishes available is nothing short of impressive, and all at affordable prices, although you'll probably only manage a starter and main meal! (however tempting the dessert menu might be) The food is cooked beautifully, as you would expect from a quality Indian restaurant, and the meat in the meat dishes is tender and tasty. In fact, all the food is cooked to perfection, and I have never had any cause to complain. You are also well attended by the waiters, who make sure you are enjoying your meal at regular intervals. You...

Run Ronnie Run is an odd little comedy gem, it is very reminiscent of the channel 4 sitcom ‘My Name Is Earl’, at least the main characters in Earl remind me a lot of Ronnie and his friends. They could very easily fit into the Earl ‘world’ and not look... more
I have seen this film described as experimental or avant-garde but, although it is not your average Hollywood action or romance flick (though it incorporates a bit of both); it isn't nine hours in the life of a skyscraper either. In fact, just the... more
