Advantages: Friendly efficient service, food adjusted to customers taste when necessary Disadvantages: Not as busy as it could be
Ealing Balti House is a delightful little Indian restaurant located in West Ealing which has been in operation since 1996. West Ealing is in West London and it?s not exactly one of the nicer parts of Ealing which is a shame as this restaurant gets easily overlooked when people think about dining in the Ealing area.
My husband and I found this restaurant quite by chance a few years ago as it?s walking distance from our home. We were somewhat surprised to notice it as we thought we?d tried out all of the Indian restaurants in the Ealing area over the years. Unfortunately it?s not in the best location in Ealing, it?s on the main road of the West Ealing shopping area but it?s right at the end so it?s easily missed as it?s opposite the local Kwik Fit and parking is only available on the single yellow lines outside the restaurant or across ...

Advantages: Not Just for your Regular Curry Disadvantages: Not Suitable for those with a Nut Allergy
Balti is not actually the name of the sauce or paste, but is in fact the name given to the dish the curry is cooked in. A Balti is a round bottomed type wok. These curries were originally cooked very quickly over very high flames using meat and /or vegetables that have been marinated and then additional spices added, before it is served at the table in the Balti. You then use naan bread to scoop out the curry.
A great way to save on washing up!!
This 283g glass jar of Patak's Balti curry paste, with coriander and tomatoes, cost me £1.45 from a local Dehli, but you will probably find it cheaper in the supermarket.
For each curry you make you need to use a quarter of the paste from the jar, so in effect you'll get 4 curries from the one jar. Any unused paste needs to be stored in the fridge and used within 6 months of opening ...
Advantages: Tasty food, good atmosphere Disadvantages: Waiters sometimes a little slow
Balti International is a student haven as far as Indian food is concerned. A welcoming atmosphere awaits you as soon as you step through the door, and you can smell those exotic smells of fresh spices straight away. You are led to your table shortly, and sat down, sometimes with some free house wine. The selection of dishes available is nothing short of impressive, and all at affordable prices, although you'll probably only manage a starter and main meal! (however tempting the dessert menu might be) The food is cooked beautifully, as you would expect from a quality Indian restaurant, and the meat in the meat dishes is tender and tasty. In fact, all the food is cooked to perfection, and I have never had any cause to complain. You are also well attended by the waiters, who make sure you are enjoying your meal at regular intervals. You will ...
