Review of Air Baltic by JVL

Advantages: Competitive prices, plenty of destinations, good service
Disadvantages: You have to pay for food and drink on board - but that's almost standard nowadays...

...such as Tallinn and Riga are included in the regular 'Europe for €99' special offers. The Air Baltic website (www.airbaltic.com) makes it very easy to peruse the flight schedules and book online - the route map takes pride of place on the main screen alongside the calendar and the flight planner. Navigation around the site is very easy and it is simple to access any information that you need, plus you can log on to the secure members' area or check in online. The side bar contains links to new destinations, group tickets, special offers (such as the Baltic Pass: if you have a return flight booked to and from one of the Baltic capitals, you can book up to eight single trips within the region as flexible tickets, which works out at great value if you're planning a tour of the Baltics), airport transfer bus tickets, car hire, hotel bookings, and so... IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF PIGS TROTTERS
Review of Ringhotel Friederikenhof, Lübeck by RICHADA

Advantages: Situation. Food. Ambiance. Service. Value.
Disadvantages: Having to check out!

...WHY DID WE BOOK THE RINGHOTEL FRIEDERIKENHOF? We did not actually, in a sense, choose to book this hotel. It just happened to be the venue for a friend's wedding reception. He was marrying a girl from Lubeck in the north of Germany. The invitation arrived at Easter time for the wedding on 5th October. We booked our three night stay immediately upon our receipt, and acceptance, of the invitation, having discovered that it was not exorbitantly expensive, had an en-suite room available for the three nights that we wanted to be there and actually looked rather pleasant on the website. Not knowing Lubek, or indeed northern Germany at all, we did not even make the effort to look at other hotels in the area. The fact that the reception was being held at the Friederikenhof on the Friday meant that if we were staying there I did not need... Read review

Neat And Tidy Cuckoos, Coffee And Cakes
Review of General: Germany by Sexy-Kay

Advantages: Excellent for walking and especially cycling
Disadvantages: Limited veggie food and too much smoking

...Heathrow. We were heading for northern Germany to stay with some friends, older friends. I speak very limited German, my boyfriend none at all. They don't speak English, so an interesting time was ahead of us. The chunk we were visiting is the bit plonked right under Denmark and also borders the Baltic Sea. An area, I think I'm right in saying, that is mainly part of the Schleswig-Holstein state. If you were to draw a line from the North Sea at Husum, go right (east) to Schleswig and then on to Eckenforde on the Baltic sea, then above this would be where we explored for about eight days. A lot of Schleswig-Holstein was once part of Denmark and, at times, the King of Denmark was also the Duke of Schleswig. I gather it's all long sorted and is now firmly German so we didn't get involved in any disputes, other than when my sense of humour... Read review
