location
Baltimore is a small city located in the state of Maryland in the north east part of the United States.It is close to the Washington DC metropolitan area and from Silver Spring MD it is about a 45 minute drive.If you are arriving by air there is BWI(Baltimore Washington International Airport)which would get you close to the city.

Getting around
The city has a metro bus service that would get you into most places but you need to know the bus schedule.You can try taking a cab but cab fares are expensive in most US cities and Baltimore is not an exception.If you can get hold of a car then you would be in great shape.Parking can be a challenge so be very careful where you place your car.You can get paid parking( especially when there are public events) for about $5-6 for the whole day.

Attractions
If you get anywhere close to Baltimore there are two professional teams in the city.One of them is the Baltimore Orioles who play professional baseball and the other team is the Baltimore Ravens who are a member of the National Football League.Go to Camden Yards,that is the name of the stadium where the Baltimore Orioles play their games and the place is a beauty.The M&T Stadium is the name of the stadium of the Baltimore Ravens and it is loaded with sky boxes and big screens TV for fans to follow the games.The are many other attractions including the Baltimore innner City Harbor.Go there on the fourth of July night or New Years eve and you get to see some great fireworks.

Accomodation
If you want expensive, there is a Hilton hotel close to the Inner harbor.There are cheap motels around town but it could be dangerous at times especially at night.You can drive down to the Silver Spring area and get good and less expensive accommodation at the Holiday Inn in Georgia avenue.

Best time to visit is during the Spring and Summer months in the USA.Winter can be quite cold in the East coast and you would not get the chance to enjoy a lot of the outdoor activities.

In Conclusion, Baltimore city is like the junior brother of Washington DC.There are places especially downtown that you have to be very careful.The people are not as open as in Washington DC where there is a greater international population.Food is cheap,there are lots of seafood in the inner harbour.
