A fantastic tropical resort paradise found in Koh Samui

Advantages: Secluded hotel & Cottages in natural surroundings ustilising natural materials. Very tasteful
Disadvantages: Quite expensive.

other resorts. Bearing in mind that Koh Samui isn?t that big it is quite cheap to take a taxi to Fishermans village where the food and atmosphere is fantastic or Chon Môn which is about three miles away. The facilities in the hotel are excellent with two swimming pools one of which is an infinity pool which is peacefully secluded with children being banned from this area. There is a gym (not that we made use of this facility good heavens above) three restaurants,( more about the restaurants later) a gift shop and an internet café. They are all very tasteful and only sell necessities as opposed to the usual tat. There is also a spa offering different forms of massage and various therapies. There is also a car hire shop where you can also organise various trips around the island. We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel over the New ...

Sala Samui Resort & Spa Review - Thailand

Advantages: Too many to mention, pure bliss!!!
Disadvantages: None

the staff are always on hand to give towels or take drink or food orders. The Mandarin Spa is fantastic, it is costly compared to the massages you can get on the beach but the surroundings are lovely. We received a free couples honeymoon massage which was excellent, we also had a Seaweed Wrap and traditional Thai Massage next to the pool we would highly recommend both. There is also a library with Internet access which was very handy, there are also plenty of books that can be borrowed. The reception also hold a DVD collection that can be borrowed and suprisingly there was plenty to choose from. The rooms were cleaned daily and when they were turned down in the evening, little food gifts were left on the bed which was a really nice touch. All in all we had the best honeymoon ever and would recommend the hotel to everyone! ...

Review of Sala Samui Resort & Spa, Ko Samui

Koh Samui - Beach, Sun, Food & Drink - what else?

Advantages: Crystal blue waters, white sands, shops
Disadvantages: Not for the culture-seekers...

I will start by admitting that Koh Samui is one of the more touristy islands of Thailand, and that we have seen more naturally stunning and more cultural places... it?s main attraction being white sandy beaches and relaxation for the likes of sun dogs like us. Still, it is definitely worth visiting once you have had your fill of culture and just want to relax in the sun with a coconut shake and sun lotion by your side. Many places in Thailand are suited for the long-haul traveller and may offer more cultural delights, but for those who havent?t got the time, Samui is much nicer than Phuket or Pattaya (aka the ?underbelly of Asia?) and Samui has the added benefit of being close to other islands that you can visit. Even if you are backpacking, like we were, you?ll enjoy the luxuries here as we sank our teeth into toasties, chips (with ...
