Well with it being at the bottom of a long road off a main road there is only one quiet 'hotel' and a taverna which sells limited food and drinks but theres a hidden toilet also available. The food isn't pricey here, you would only spend a few Euro's on a sandwich and drink. ... more

Comfort: The sand is soft but HOT in the midday sun. Luckily there are sunbeds with wooden large umbrellas with LOTS of space between you and anyone else on the beach. The beach is small enough for you to walk from end to end in about 15 minutes and there is plenty of beatiful stones to look at. Don't let it put you off that the beach isn't huge because it never gets busy! It's such a serene, calm beach that you can relax all day and be oblivious to whats going on around you. The beach isn't very wide.so its a short distance to go to cool down. The water is warm, but still refreshing in peak-season, but it is quite salty. Theres also a chance of seeing turtles either on the beach or in the water. The Loggerhead Turtles are valued by the Greeks so if you see one, leave him alone!
We have been going to Zakynthos for many years and always take a day to visit this part of the island. Its beautiful, but has got very busy in recent years. The beaches on this side of the island are very laid back and tranquil. We have always called it 'Our little taste of the Carribean'. You do need to watch out for oil though, coming from the nearby beaches and the watersports. Its not a lot, but can be annoying when you get a blob stuck on the ... ...time we went, as the sand had been puched up from the sean onto the beach which created a bit of a cliff edge when going for a swim. The calm sea is great for families but the sand gets very hot so beach shoes are a must.
I would recommend anyone who hires a car to definitely check out this part of the island. ...
