a great hotel - would stay again!
Review of Montien Riverside Hotel, Bangkok by
frankiecesca
Advantages: lovely views of the river and very good facilities
Disadvantages: none
I stayed in the Montien Riverside Hotel in Bangkok back in 2006. It has probably changed a little now but, all the same the information I can give will be useful to anybody thinking about staying there. The nightly rate at the moment starts at approximately £60 per room per night for a superior room type. The location:
The hotel is set on the edge of the Chao Phraya river which is the huge river that runs through the city of Bangkok. It is a bit ... ...of the nightlife but, it has a stunning river location so obviously if you want this type of location then it is to be expected that you wouldn't be on top of other attractions. Overall though it only takes takes 10 minutes to get to Bangkok's main area for shopping and nightlife so not very far at all.
The hotel has been built on ground that is slightly raised so when driving up to the doors the driveway is sloped. It kind of gives the hotel and ...

Grand China Princess Hotel - Bangkok
Review of Grand China Princess Chinatown, Bangkok by
daylehall
Advantages: In centre of town, clean rooms
Disadvantages: food was expensive
I found this hotel to be in a very central location which was good for us as we were only in Bangkok for three nights. The room had air conditioning which came in very handy. The rooms were cleaned on a daily basis and the sheets were changed everyday. We were in the middle of the town and near to the Golden Palace which is a tourist hotspot, we were also near to the main town and all the shops were easily accesable. There were plenty of banks surrounding ... ...The night markets were a 10 minute walk from the hotel and the red light district (which is worth a look for the culture shock) was a 15 minute walk. There were quite a few tailors and other shops further away from out hotel which we could get to by a 'tuk tuk' car and this was a very cheap method of transport (about £2 for a retunr journey to out hotel and visiting around 3 shops) that price also included a tip. Bangkok is ideal for shopping. Our ...

Good standard
Review of Radisson Hotel, Bangkok by
frankiecesca
Advantages: Rooms, staff and price
Disadvantages: Not right in centre so may not be suited for some
The hotel is lovely and service is good - I cant really comment more in details on certain aspects as I only stayed for 1 night. However from what I did see and experience I would definitely stay here again if I was going for longer.
Room:
The room was huge with two really good sized beds and very clean - the room had a TV with satellite, tea/coffee facilities, writing desk, table with chair and iron and ironing board.
The room seemed fairly modern ... ...through a modernisation recently with things like new carpets etc. The view was excellent as the hotel is quite high rise.
The thing I loved most about this hotel was the size of the bathroom - it was really big with a great sized shower and it also had a tub that was on the other side of the room. Also this hotel has triple bedded rooms but rather than like some other hotels where this will be the same size as a room made for two but with an extra ...

The Fresh Prince of Bel Aire
Review of Bel-Aire Princess, Sukhumvit, Bangkok by
utero
Advantages: Good Facilities, Clean, Spacious Rooms, Good Location
Disadvantages: Working out the tea maker
I have just returned from Bangkok and it was certainly an eye opener in more ways than one. A fine stay at the Bel Aire Princess Hotel complimented my trip.
The first time you step foot outside the airport in Bangkok it's like having your head wrapped in a hot towel. The humidity is certainly far different from anything you will experience in the UK. So it's with trepidation that you approach your stay, you ask yourself whether you can sleep in ... ...certainly took away all those worries. The hotel is well known so any taxi driver at the Airport should be able to take you to your destination without a hitch. You'll find it located on Soi 5 off the Sukhumvit road. The great thing about the hotel is its location; it's down at the end of the street so you're not right on top of the noise from the main road. In fact it was pretty peaceful considering the amount of noise on the main streets. Soi 5 ...

Stay here - tallest building in Thailand
Review of Baiyoke Sky Hotel, Bangkok by
dance
Advantages: Excellent service, location and large rooms
Disadvantages: Can't think of any
...hotel is also known as Baiyoke 2 hotel. Same taxi drivers do not know it by Baiyoke Sky but rather Baiyoke 2 Hotel so take note.
Introduction:
The rooms are in standard zone, sky zone and space zone. If you are staying on 22nd to 45th floor, it's the standard zone. Space zone is from 69th floor to 74th floor. Needless to say, the higher you go, you get to see more of Bangkok from your room. The rooms are all very big by even Asia standard and if ... ...3* hotel. Location:
Very central location. As soon as you step out the building, the road in front of the hotel is full of stalls selling cheap (very very cheap indeed) stuff. You can get a Polo tee for 199 Baht (aprox. £3) and a pair of shorts for 79 Baht (approx £1.5). Walk straight and you'll find Platinum Fashion Mall at the other end of the road. Platinum Fashion Mall is another shopping haven and I strongly recommend you to dine at the food ...
