I have just returned from Bangkok and it was certainly an eye opener in more ways than one. A fine stay at the Bel Aire Princess Hotel complimented my trip. The first time you step foot outside the airport in Bangkok it's like having your head wrapped in a hot towel. The humidity is certainly far different from anything you will experience in the UK. You'll find it located on Soi 5 off the Sukhumvit road. The great thing about the hotel is its location; it's down at the end of the street so you're not right on top of the noise from the main road. I stayed in Chaophya Park, August 2007, along with 20 other family members. I had decided to get married in Phuket and thought it would be nice to have a few days in Bangkok to show familiy how fantastic the city is. ...Superior Deluxe room at the Amari Atrium in Bangkok for 4 days in September to finish off our honeymoon. The hotel is very grand and very well decorated. Check in took no time at all and we were taken straight up to our room on the 9th Floor. The room was very spacious, the bed was huge and was decorated with rose petals, there was also a lovely honeymoon cake on arrival. ...nice spacious bath with overhead shower and the water was nice and hot with plenty of power. Each room has a safe which came in very handy for keeping passports and cash. ...excellent water features, has a relaxing feeling and you must be careful not to sit down to long, with the fear of falling asleep. Advantages: Close to Domestic Airport
Disadvantages: Too far from downtown Bangkok

I stayed here in May 08 for 1 night. I was flying out of Donmuang Domestic airport early the next day and the location was ideal as it is a short drive away. On there website they show a bridge connecting the hotel to the airport, we were told this was now closed. Beware of the taxi touts who try and charge 300 Baht to take you there! A metered cab cost us 60 baht. The room was as shown in the advertised pictures, complete with all the amenities, ...
...My husband and I had some time to spare so were told by the hotel there was a very good shopping mall about 15-20 mins away. It was huge and I got the chance to buy items that are not aimed at tourists and therefore cheaper than places like MBK, Siam square. I would only recommend this hotel to people who will be using the hotel as a short stop over before they fly out of the domestic airport. Simply beacause there is not very much to do nearby. ...
