Treated like a celeb, worth every penny
Review of Hotel Plaza Athenee, Bangkok by bazz22

Advantages: Friendly staff, Amazing views, Spacious Rooms
Disadvantages: not family friendly

...spiral staircase behind them. The hotel has 378 rooms, we were upgraded to Corner Deluxe City View room, it was extremely spacious, a large bathroom with a shower most celebs would have been proud of, and A Queen sized bed. When we unpacked and got all sorted one of the staff came up to our room to turndown the bed with chocolate every night, and a bottle of champagne on the first night. Overall the staffs during our stay were so pleasant and helpful, ...
...£10) .This wasn’t just a hotel it had everything from a spa, squash courts, 6 shop’s underground, including a bakery which gives you most amazing and stylish cakes, a rooftop pool. I also bought a suit whilst in Bangkok when it arrived at the hotel we weren’t in, but the staff took it up to the room and laid it out for me. When we were leaving they ordered a courtesy car to collect us from the hotel to the airport. The only downside with regards ... Read review

Magnificent Marriott resort and spa !
Review of Marriott Resort & Spa, Bangkok by ROYALP

Advantages: Close to the chaos that is Bangkok yet far enough away to sleep well.
Disadvantages: The main city centre not easily walkable.

Quite simply (and I have stayed in many hotels throughout the world) my absolute favourite. The biggest asset is the location being situated on the quiet (if there is such a thing) side of the river yet using the free ferry boats that take you over to the skytrain (a must for moving through Bangkok and so cheap!) you can be in pat pong in 20 minutes!. The staff are both attentive and well trained with various standards of room all of which are air ...
...free form swimming pool overlooks the river and traditional Thai music and dancing occurs daily.MUSTS; A meal on the hotels own 'rice barge' stunning and great value and check out the 'Chocolate shop' unless of course youre on a diet !. The main temples and major sightseeing areas are also well within reach/ expect around a 50 minute transfer from the new airport. ... Read review

Swiss Park Hotel Review - Bangkok
Review of Swiss Park Hotel, Bangkok by shar25

Advantages: Location
Disadvantages: Room/ Food

My partner and I stayed in this hotel last year (07) for a couple of nights. We opted for the executive room and didn't relly notice anything executive about it. The bathroom was basic and had a leaky shower and mould on the wall. The floor in the room didn't reach the end wall/ window so you could see through the floor. The room had a really strong smell of smoke. The a/c was very noisy, making it difficult to get to sleep. Breakfast was not a ...
...to those who could stomach Thai food and the fruit had flies on it. The swimming pool was too cold to swim in. The only plus for this hotel was its location, a few minutes walk from Nana skytrain station. Close to other hotels such as the Ambassador and The Landmark. ... Read review

Amari Airport Hotel Review - Bangkok
Review of Amari Airport Hotel, Bangkok by shar25

Advantages: Close to Domestic Airport
Disadvantages: Too far from downtown Bangkok

I stayed here in May 08 for 1 night. I was flying out of Donmuang Domestic airport early the next day and the location was ideal as it is a short drive away. On there website they show a bridge connecting the hotel to the airport, we were told this was now closed. Beware of the taxi touts who try and charge 300 Baht to take you there! A metered cab cost us 60 baht. The room was as shown in the advertised pictures, complete with all the amenities, ...
...My husband and I had some time to spare so were told by the hotel there was a very good shopping mall about 15-20 mins away. It was huge and I got the chance to buy items that are not aimed at tourists and therefore cheaper than places like MBK, Siam square. I would only recommend this hotel to people who will be using the hotel as a short stop over before they fly out of the domestic airport. Simply beacause there is not very much to do nearby. ... Ambassador Hotel Review - Bangkok
Review of Ambassador Hotel, Bangkok by shar25

Advantages: Location
Disadvantages: Outdated rooms

...back in with a big grin on her face! This hotel does provide value for money and I think they are currently updating some of the rooms. Although I think with all the new hotels popping up the Ambassador will need to spend a lot to match them. ... Read review
