I have been to the airport in Bangkok twice. Even though the place is nice and tidy, I 'd not say it is my best experience. This is mainly due to the language barrier!
The very first time I went to Bangkok on my own, I have no idea what forms I need to fill in to get though the passport control, so I apporach to the help desk by the passport control for help. There is about 5 different forms on the desk, I have no idea which one I need, so I ask one the the staff behind the desk, he just point to one of them, and soI fill that in and go and queu for the check out! When it was my turn, i handed my passport and form in, however, the man just shake his head and wave his hand and show me this other form, so I say can I fill it in here? He did not reply, and just keep shake his hand and head to tell me to go! So I go back to the help desk for help and ask which form I need? This time the man point ot a different form, and so I fill that in and go queu again. The same thing happen!!!! So, after about 45 mins I m still there trying to find the right form to fill in! And this did not only happen to me, I saw a few other people in the same situation with me too!
Finally, I have try and ask someone queuing for help! It took me nearly an hour and a half to get out!!!!! It was a nighmare! I just think they really need to train their airport staff better in English!
Despite all that though, Bangkok is still a nice place to have fun!

The English langwidge stomps through the colonies, brandishing self-righteousness as it yells at the locals. The thing is, the locals just stand there, looking slightly askew at the big sunburned nutter spouting Geordie incomprehensibly.
I was amazed how many Thais do actually speak English. I am not amazed at how many English speak Thai.

As a frequent visitor to Don Muang Airport, Bangkok, I've never had any problems like this. What normally happens is that you are given a simple form to complete as your flight nears its destination. You hand that, along with your passport, to the person on the immigration desk. They look at you, your passport photo, date-stamp your passport, staple the form into your passport and off you go. I've never seen any of these various forms you mention. Maybe the airline you flew with is at fault if they didn't give you the form. Sorry you had a bad experience but this must be very unusual. Even without good language training, most Thais are extremely couteous, efficient, and willing to help. Better luck next time.

There are quite a few spelling mistakes in your opinion, if you correct them, mail me and I'll re-rate it. Also, does that mean that we have to 'train' -our- airport control people to speak Thaiż If not, then I think it is a bit unfair. - CW666
