Barbados (Dive Sites)

Good diving, Great place

Advantages: Barbados is a great place
Disadvantages: The diving is good, but not fantastice

.../> I wouldn’t go to Barbados just to dive, as there are probably better places, but I would go back because it’s such a great place. I really enjoyed diving with these guys, would do so again and would recommend them.

Great for beginners!

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

Admittedly, its not the most spectacular diving in the world but there's plenty to see. Most of the reefs and wrecks lie in less than 20m of water and this makes it a good destination for those who want to learn or have just learnt to dive. There are many good and competent dive operators willing to offer you a good package for dive, certification or any combination. There are coral reefs and a wide variety of tropical fish to be seen . . . you ...
...you can see. You also have the opportunity to see turtles and other sea-animals depending on the specific dive sites. UNdoubtedly, the best wreck site to dive is the Stavronikita. This dive is a bit deep and so not recommeneded for rank beginners. The ship lies in about 30m but is standing on its end which means that you can start enjoying your dive from around 15m and it gets better the deaper you go. ...

BLowing bubbles in Barbados

Advantages: Really good & some very untouched sites...loads of turtles!
Disadvantages: Can be more expensive than other islands

...3 dive shops in total. Barbados has some really good wrecks, from Carlisle bay where there are 4 wrecks at very shallow depth & on one dive site, to the Stavronikita, which is 45m at it's deepest. This one really is fantastic!! There are numerous fringing reefs with loads of life & the visibilty is pretty good (not so good after hurricanes in other ares). There can be a few Shonky dive shops around, but most are pretty good. The last one I worked ...
...operation, it is run by a Scotsman & his wife, they are very professional. There is just so much to see down there, turtles are in abundance, though there are no sharks. Up to you whether this is a good idea or not. Highly recommended diving & plenty of it!!!!! ...
