Lanzarote

Advantages: A fantastic holiday for people of all ages
Disadvantages: None at all - i love the place!!

Lanzarote and not possibly go on a camel ride, its a must!! Spitting is a slight problem from the camels but its all very safe and well organised. The camels getting up and back down again make for an interesting ride! The rides are located near Timanfaya National Park and are pretty good value for money. Each camel takes two people - both of which have to be around the same weight as you sit on chairs either side of the camel - so you have to balance each other out! This is an experience I would recommend for all. The beaches contain golden sand unlike those of the other Canaries and you are pretty much guaranteed sunshine all year round. Most of the locals speak English so the language barrier is not a problem and the local currency is Euros as like the rest of Europe. Taxis are cheap and buses regular. Costa Teguise beach is ...

This little tourist went to market...

Advantages: cheap bargains, fun day out, nice little village
Disadvantages: can get busy

INTRODUCTION ------------------------ Since 1994 I have been visiting Lanzarote, I love my holidays there and appreciate the little things more and more as I get older. When I was 7 and visiting Lanzarote for the first time I hated the hustle and bustle of the market. It was often cloudy and people pushed past to get their bargains. I never wanted to know the history of Teguise and I certainly didn't want to stand around taking pictures of Canarian ladies in pretty frocks. A couple of months ago however I returned from a trip to Lanzarote with my fiance and my take on tings was completely different. I had a great time exploring the stalls selling souvenirs of many cultures, I enjoyed tasting Tapas and I certainly enjoyed bartering myself. TEGUISE ------------- Teguise used to be the capital of Lanzarote, until Arrecife was ...

Review of Teguise Market, Lanzarote

LANZAROTE

Advantages: breathtaking, facinating, clean, plenty to do, beautiful beaches
Disadvantages: none

LANZAROTE. Whilst browsing through our trusty Thomson holiday brochure we came across a section for Lanzarote. We knew of the name but had no idea where it was or what it was like and so looked it up on the internet. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Where is it? ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Lanzarote is the most easterly of the Canary Islands and is situated in the Atlantic Ocean, just 70 miles off the coast of Africa. The Canary Islands are classed as a part of Spain and are the result of volcanic eruptions. Lanzarote is just 37 miles long and 12 miles wide. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ The view? ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ We knew the Island was going to be Volcanic but hadn't anticipated quite how spectacular it would look. During our transfer from the airport we got a taster of what the Island was like and we couldn't tear our eyes ...
