Advantages: timeless, peaceful, historic & beautiful Disadvantages: you really need a car to get the best out of the region
A timeless, peaceful wonderful countryside where rural life continues largely unchanged and where old fashioned values of friendship, family and mutual support still hold sway -this is the Umbria I know & love.
Deep in this heartland lies Lago Trasimeno the fourth largest lake in Italy. This beautiful lake, dotted with wonderful medieval towns and fishing villages has many faces -from the mirror stillness of deep blue to aquamarine waves rushing on to the shore. It is a shallow lake, very child friendly with man made beaches dotted around it, all with play areas, cafes and other facilities. In summer the local towns are lively but never overcrowded, with lakeside restaurants, music in the Piazzas and many events ,like the summer Jazz festival and the village Festas. Advantages: 'Some' Staff Disadvantages: Do You Want The List?
to the boredom. Entertainment here was a proper let down!
Overall this was a poor holiday especially with the amount of money Thomson charge for coming to this property, Staff are ignorant and rude and also the general Breezes holiday experience was appauling, i will never return to a Breezes hotel again or one of their partners after this experience. As i have said this was my third time to the Dominican republic and it has put me off completely, however i did enjoy my two other holidays here at the Occidental Allegro Punta cana (Carribbean village) Bavaro, and also the Clubhotel Riu Bachata (Puerto Plata/bahia De Maimon).
I hope this helps you! ...
Advantages: everything....beautiful scenery, gorgeous food + lovely people! Disadvantages: not much...Assisi can get very busy especially during Easter and mid-july
Umbria is the most beautiful and varied region of Italy and each town is crammed with treasures and historical backgrounds (eg. St Benedict and St. Francis). Hill-towns feature quite prominently in Umbria- pinky-stoned, fascinating Assisi, the dark medieval streets of Perugia and the steep, delightful towns of Gubbio, Spello and Urbino. The unspoilt, gentle, lush countryside of Umbria is part of its charm. For example, the Piano Grande - a vast upland plain stretching for 40sqkm!
My review will be focused on the lovely medieval town of Assisi as this is my favourite Umbrian town and im constantly drawn back to it!
Assisi:
A series of earthquakes over the last few decades have severely damaged this medieval town and Assisi had to cope without its premiere sight - the Basilica di San Francesco! The Basilica's walls are covered in ...
