A noisy room or a small room?
Review of H10 Montcada Hotel, Barcelona by zzooiiaa

Advantages: close to attractions
Disadvantages: noisy rooms, small rooms

I can`t believe that I saw this hotel at ciao.co.uk top products without reviews because I have actually stayed there last month. The taxi from the airport costs 28 euros but keep in mind that they charge for the luggae as well. I think that it was 3 or 4 euros per bag. Bring credit crads with you as they want to swipe it befor you check in. They need to hold some money in case of mini bar usage or some damage to the room. If you don`t have a credit ...
...a deposit. The room we were in was really, really noisy. It is good that the hotel is situate really close to the main attractions and sights but it is also on a main road, so you can imagine the noise. Although it was better then the NH hotel in Dortmund where my room was literarly above the train station. If you want quiter room, they will put you on the back of the hotel, but the rooms are tiny. Honestly the smallest rooms I have ever seen. As ... Read review

Fantastic Hotel! Definately worth paying a visit
Review of Laietana Palace, Barcelona by nannon1989

Advantages: Friendly service, high levels of cleanliness, fantastic location, room amenities, good food etc etc!
Disadvantages: Only thing i can think of was TV picture quality was not excellent on all channels

Staying at this hotel is a pleasure, the service is friendly, prompt and very good. It is in a brilliant location, easy walking distance to the beach and port (around 10-15 minutes depending on your pace). The room was really nice, with large windows with a lovely view and a good bathroom (must say i enjoyed their shower very much!). It was very clean when we arrived and each day when we returned it was wonderfully clean. This is a hotel that takes ...
...your holiday or business trip just that bit better. The rooms all have tv (with many programs in a variety of languages including English), air con, phone, a socket for your pc -for internet access i presume (i did not use it!), a fridge which was well stocked and even guide books about the area in a drawer! Something i find important when i am away is how comfortable is the bed?! Well this hotel did not let me down on that front, i slept well each ... Read review

Central and Ideally Placed, Hotel Roma Reial
Review of Roma Reial Hotel, Barcelona by Andy.mack

Advantages: Perfect location, excellent Hotel if you just want somewhere to sleep
Disadvantages: A little hard to find, nothing really major though, Breakfast could have been more substantial

...the city but decided that Roma Reial fitted the bill better than any of the others. It's located just off Las Ramblas, the main street in Barcelona where a lot of the cities drinking establishments are located. The Roma Reial is located in the Placa Reial about 200 meters from the bottom of Las Ramblas. The Placa is quite easy to find and seems to be one of the more popular locations in the city where a number of bars and restaurants are located. ...
...as well and booking it well in advance certainly seems to be advisable. If you are looking for a cheap hotel to lay your head this is certainly one I'd recommend, central and ideally located for pretty much everything. CAN'T BEAT LOCATION FOR THE MONEY!
Review of Ramblas Hotel, Barcelona by reviewqueen84

Advantages: Cheap, comfortable, tv in room
Disadvantages: no safe in room

...at the top of the ramblas and the port at the bottom. After reading lots of mixed reviews I was worried about what I might find. Yes it is true that it is next door but one to a 'brothel' but we did not see anything untoward during our 3 day stay. The rooms had been recently re-furbished and were decorated to a good standard with a fresh lick of paint, newly done bathrooms and a flat screen tv. To my surprise on arrival we were upgraded to a superior ...
...no restaurant but then the ramblas has so many to choose from literally a minutes walk. Lockers are also provided for storing suitcase before check in should you room not be ready on arrival and after departure should your flight be later at night. Just an added extra tip if you want to spend less on food and drink there is a square adjacent to the ramblas (not catalunya square) which serves beer at half the price of some of the places on the ramblas. ... Pension Miami Hotel, Barcelona, Spain.
Review of Pension Miami Hotel, Barcelona, Spain by xdeeanix

Advantages: Close to centre, clean room, great staff, near great shops, cheap and clean!
Disadvantages: no view, alley way smells, people pee in alley way, noisy.

After reading some very dodgy things about this hotel I made sure that my travel agent booked us a double room with a jacuzi bath (these are the biggest rooms that they have) and that was also away from the lift (hardly ever used to be fair). The hotel is a tad hard to find (but if you get the airport bus it drops you off at Universitat which is near the hotel). Please make sure that you do your reaserch into the location and print yourself off ...
...very nice guys handing out flyers where it was! When you get there it does look like a hostel. It is next to an alley (I will talk about this later!) and you have to buzz to be let it (a great idea I feel!) The staff are SO nice and friendly and speak great English (compared to my lousy Catalonian!). They will give you directions, metro, train and everyday advice (they also have great maps there!) The room was basic but nice and cool with aircon. ... Read review
