Barcelona is the second largest city in Spain .it is situated between the Collserola Hills to the north and to the south the Mediterranean.Collserola is part of the coastal mountain range that shelters the north-west part of the city of Barcelona. The highest point of this mountain range is the peak of Tibidabo and it has amazing views over the city.

The climate is typical of the Mediterranean with mild dry winters and warm humid summers. The coldest months are January and February.

There are 68 municipal parks which are divided into 12 historic parks 5 botanical parks,45 urban parks and 6 forest parks.

Also there are several beaches which are worth going to.

Placa Catalunya is the historical part of the city and stretches alongside the upper half of Avinguda Diagonal which is the main commercial area of Barcelona.

I found the best way to see the city and the main sights is to hop on the Tourist Bus. The cost of the Bus tickets Adults 20euros approx,
Children and Senior Citizens 13euros approx which I think is very good value .

There are many venues where live music and theatre are being performed. Every June there is the Sonar Music Festival.

Thereis a lot of sport and very good facilities for a variety of sport. Barcelona hosted the olympics in 1992. It is also very well known for its football team FC BARCELONA.. The Open Seat Godo ATP Tour International Series Gold tennis tournament which is held every year at he Reial Club de Tenis Barcelona.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Barcelona where a rented an apartment in the old part of the city.
