Of course, Barcelona isn't big like London or Paris with their 8/9 millions inhabitants, but it offers more attractions. At first you can visit a lot of bars where you can have the first experience with the Spanish mentality. Then, you can visit the wonderful monuments of Gaudí like "Sagrada Familia" or "Parc Güell". Barcelona has also one of the beautifulness pedestrian walkways (perhaps the beautifulness) of the world: "Las Ramblas". In "Las Ramblas" you can see a lot of artists with their sympathy way to make the people laughing. You can also visit an another walkway whose name is "La Rambladel mar". Here you have a wonderful view of the Mediterranean. You can also visit "La Plaza de Catalunya" where you can buy a lot of things in "El Corte Inglés" (like Harrods). You can have your "relax time" in one of the wonderfulness beach in Barcelona: "la barceloneta". Then you can visit "Montjuiic" where you can see the fountains, which in combination with music change the colour of the water. To sum up: Barcelona is a city where you can meet art, fun people, nature and other things in one place.
