Advantages Good Atmosphere, Cheap
Disadvantages Small / Crowded
The Barfly is one of Cardiff's few rock clubs.
It is situated to the right of Cardiff Castle. And just on the end of Queens Street.
It is a relatively small venue.
Downstairs you have got cloakroom facilties, a bar, dance floor, stage and toilets.
The CloakroomThe Bar
There is a resonable sized bar at the Barfly. It serves all the beverages to please everyone in the room.
They sell Beer, Larger, Alcopops, spirits, softdrinks and fruit juices and all at reasonable prices.
Dance Floor
The dance floor / social area is not as big as other clubs, it can get to be a bit of a tight squeese if it is a busy night. It is bascially all standing however, there are a few stools in there.
Most of its nights are filled with live bands performing up until around 11pm to which the dj will take over.
It is a good venue to catch a bandThe music that follows the band is compiled by the resident DJ. It ranges from rock, punk, metal, indie and emo.
This club is definately worth checking out, especially if there is a band playing that you really want to see.Plus if you do see a band there, there tickets are at a resonable fee.
