New bars and restaurants that are excellent, the coffee shop extends onto the terrace over the beach, where you watch the sun go down.
The service was very good as was the food. The island has a sea wall that shelters one side of the island from the sea, this is great for snorkelling if you are not too confident in the water, but just outside the sea wall is the house reef for the more experienced. As with all the islands the clear warm sea and fantastic marine life is what many of us visit here for and you will not be disappointed, this is not to mention the diving, if you are thinking of learning to dive, I suggest that you complete your open water diver course at home then visit the Maldives.
Many rays visit the lagoon at night; I think they still feed the rays at night, a great experience to be had by all. One of the best things about the Maldives is the fact you can relax on the beach and no one will bother you, unlike the beach vendors of other countries.
Baros is one of the middle price range islands, and it is never discounted because of its high rate of return guests. If you can afford a little extra Baros would be one of my Top recommendation.
Advantages: Lovely Small Island, Great Food, Great Diving, Friendly Staff Disadvantages: Cottages may be too close together for some
...by lovely white sandy beaches, Baros is a wonderful combination no "NO NEWS - NO SHOES" with luxury living thrown in. The dive centre is equipped with everything that the novice diver to the most experienced may need to use to dive in the most fantastic dive locations in the world. Water clarity is never less than about 70 metres and water temperature hovers at 25 - 27 degrees centigrade year round enabling diving without wet / dry suits. On land ... ...relaxing massage or use the gym facilities to keep toned after dining in style in one of the islands 3 restaurants. All in all if you go anywhere in the Maldives you will have a holiday of a lifetime, but Baros offers just that little bit more.. See you there.... ...
